DS-230 question

Since you can't save DS-230, can I fill one out on the computer, then print it, scan the printed copy as a PDF file, so my wife can sign it in India (With out having to wait for my printed copies of DS-230?) I'm currently in Iraq working as a DOD contractor, so mail is kinda slow. Just thought this will cut about 2-3 weeks from the process.

Either that or just email her the PDF file she can print it in India sign it and send it out.

here's what I did - just have her print out the last page of the ds-230 where she needs to sign. have her sign it and fed ex it to you. that should save some time and money (less pages to send you via fed ex and thus less weight). make sure you put your nvc case # on the top left or right hand corner of EACH page (including your original marriage and birth and PCC certificates). that way if they get lost in the paper shuffle at nvc, they can be rejoined with your case. to protect the originals, put a cellophane tape on the top left or right. then either write the case # on that cellophane tape, OR put a little sticky label (via label maker or something) with the case # on it. that way you can take it off after you get the originals back from the embassy during her interview. to reiterate you will have to send ORIGINALS of the certificates (and a copy) in your ds-230 packet. best of luck

suggest you install CutePDF writer on your computer - then 'print to file' - send file to her via email - she can print it out, sign it, send back to you via post/courier. I'm not any fan of 'print to paper then rescan' at all.
