Hi, I was just wondering....

what size envelope we need for the interview?

Do we need to buy stamps for it, and if so how many and do we need to put them on the envelope?

How much is the interview?

Will they collect any documents (besides the medical) at the interview, or will we get stuff back that we had already turned in?

(and why the H*** do they not have this information in the interview letter!?) errrr

Thank you! ;)

--The size specified on the embassy website is a standard US size not available in Ireland. You should be fine with a size that close enough to that. I got one in Easons

Will I receive my immigrant visa on the day of the interview? No, on the day of the visa interview you will be required to submit an envelope for each applicant, measuring approximately 34cms x 56cms (14” x 18”) with postage stamps to the value of €8.00 affixed to each envelope. Your visa and supporting documents will be mailed to you once visa processing has been completed, normally within 2–3 days of your interview.

--You don't have to pay at the interview for IR1/CR1. Your IV fee paid at the NVC covers that.

--They didnt collect any additional document(I brought tons of supporting documentation which wasnt asked for or looked at).

--They did not return the submitted docs on the day of the interview, mine came with the visa in the big envelope I submitted.

Um I'm very confused now. I emailed the Embassy in Dublin to confirm what you said and I just got an email back, it read...

"The fee is $404 or the euro equivalent

The envelope measurement is 30cmx35cm (12x14’) with stamps euro 10"

So is the fee actually $404???????

I thought that if there was a fee it was less than $100 and the person above me told me it cost nothing. I'm very very confused.

You asked or they stated what the fee was. Yes, it's $404 but that fee has already been paid when your case was at NVC.

So since I already paid it, there is no fee on the day? That's all I want to know. I'm not sure why this has to be so confusing.

I'm not frustrated with you... sorry, I just don't know why they would email me back saying $404 since I already payed it.

and they stated different envelope sizes to the one that the above person stated and amount of stamps...

Why can't they just state all this in the email?!

Oh and this is the email I sent them.....

Hello,

My husbands case number is DBL2010623001. His name is JOhn and his interview is April 28th. We just had a few questions about what is needed at the interview, as it wasn't specified on the email we received.

How much will the cost be on the day?

What size envelope do we need to bring?

Do we need to buy stamps, if so how many?

Thank you very much,

They may not have looked up your actual file, and thought you were filing DCF, as you were asking about the fee.

You are lucky you even got a response. I sent a similar email before my interview and didnt get a response back!

I got the envelope size from their website: http://dublin.usembassy.gov/faqs_immigration.html#question28

They may have realised that the exact dimension is not available in ireland and changed their requirement but as at this morning the website is not updated. As per envelope size I saw VARYING sizes from people on my interview date and it didnt seem to be a problem as long as its big.

Again, fee is already paid at NVC, print your IV fee receipt and bring along to the interview in case you are still in doubt.
