So, on a whim, we checked the CSC site and we have a waybill, which is exciting but we're confused - we can click on the waybill number and it brings us to a site that isn't DHL (it's Loomis Express?) and on the site, it has this:

Date Time Status City

2011-08-18 12:25 Undeliverable DORVAL

2011-08-17 21:02 Picked Up by Loomis DORVAL

2011-08-17 00:00 Shipment Record Received DORVAL

We called the number on the site because sometimes 'undeliverable' can mean it's ready for pick up. The lady on the phone wasn't super helpful except to tell us that my passport is in Dorval (Montreal) and it's "awaiting pick up". Is this how it's supposed to be? Are we supposed to contact Montreal (I think I might cry if we need to try and phone or email them) or does that just mean it's waiting to be picked up by the DHL truck to bring it to our location?

Hm, insofar as I've been told "undeliverable" means they're done trying to deliver it. I would get in touch with DHL or DOS to confirm they know to take it to the location you selected, because it sounds like they expect you to go to Dorval to get it?

This may be a silly question, but how do we find the DHL number? I feel like I searched all over their site. Also, our waybill linked us to 'loomisexpress' or something. The whole thing is confusing.

Have you tried copying the waybill number and going to DHL.ca and see what comes up there? Never heard of Loomis Express before... blink.gif

I just tried that too and it brings me to the same site. It's so strange. I'll hit 'search' and the URL will be a DHL.ca one and then it changes to this loomisexpress URL instead.

Called DOS and they were kind of unhelpful - basically told us it was up to Montreal to get our documents back to us. We tried calling Montreal but I'm sure you all know how that went and I also sent an email to them but you all also know how that often goes. :(

Loomis Express is the same thing as DHL, it's just one of their business names in Canada. Here's DHLs number: 1-855-256-6647

Hopefully they can shed some light for you!

We did call that number (and a different number on DHL.ca that directed to the same place) and all they could tell us was that it was in fact in Dorval.

I (surprisingly) got an email back from Montreal this afternoon and all it said was, "Your visa is ready for pick up at the ________ location." with the same information as is on the CSC website underneath of it, but even after we got that email we called DHL again and they still confirmed it was not in the right place, it was in Dorval.

I emailed the CSC help desk too, since the Montreal consulate automated reply says inquiries about DHL should be directed there. Also, we finally got a hold of someone at Montreal who told us to do the same thing (email the CSC folks) and they would deal with Montreal directly. I didn't hear back from them today. :(

Too late to edit my previous post but we just checked the waybill again and it no longer says, "Undeliverable" but "Third Party Transfer" as of 6:34 PM today. That sounds like a positive change, right? Maybe someone got on it even if they didn't email me back yet.

Also, on the CSC page, it doesn't say "Available for pick up" anymore - it says "At consular section" now. That means it's moving right?

Had my interview on Tuesday and was approved. Not much to add to a review as it went pretty much as others have recounted. Got there early, waited in line, doors opened at 7:30, elevator at 8:00 and by 9:10 I was done. What came as a complete shock was the fact that my Visa/package was ready for pick up on THURSDAY, a mere 48 hours later.
