First of all, I would just like to say thanks to all those who have helped my fiancee and I go through this process. We are far from over with it, but we've taken a huge step forward by getting approved for the visa. my fiancee had her interview yesterday March 24th (Philippine Time). Everything went well and at this moment she is going to PRISM to do her CFO Seminar.

Anyways, I would just like to share her experience during her interview yesterday. She arrived at the US Embassy at around 5:15am. She said there were already people lined up when she arrived. She said she was like one the last people to get in line for K-1 Visa Interviews. She got inside the building at around 6:30am and went through security. at 7:40am her number was called to get her pre-screening done. The pre-screener asked her for the DS documents, I-134, Tax transcripts, Receipt of payment, and W2. She asked the same basic questions that others have told: What's your name? What's your fiance's name? Where did you meet? When did you meet? When was the last time you saw each other? When's your birthday? When's his birthday? Basic questions that your partner should already know

She sat down and waited for 2 hours until around 9:40am until she was called for fingerprinting. She had trouble with fingerprinting because her fingers sweat very easily and so her fingerprints kept smudging. About another 2 hours later at 11:40am, she was called to line up for the actual interview with the CO. She was called in at around 12noon for the interview. She raised her right hand, took the oath and sat down. These are the questions that she remembers him asking her:

- Her name, birthdate and address

- Petitioner's (me) name

- Petitioner's job

- Petitioner's residence

- When we first met?

- When we last saw each other?

- Do you intend to marry within 90 days after arrival?

- Petitioner's citizenship (dual citizen), When was I naturalized? When did my family immmigrate to the States?

My fiancee tried to expand on the answers to some of the questions by giving a detailed answer, but the CO just wanted quick short answers. My fiancee said that he seemed to be happy about the fact that we have been together since our first year in college in the Philippines and been together for almost 7 years. He told her that it made it easier to know that we weren't complete strangers having only met recently and then applying for a K-1 Visa because that's when red flags start being raised. The CO didn't asked to look at any additional papers that she brought with her to the interview. She even tried to offer the CO a look at the photo album that we had made together after graduation, but the CO said it wasn't necessary. After all that he told her she was APPROVED and told her to wait outside for her number to be called for additional information.

When she got back to the waiting area, it was time for lunch break, so they were told to come back 10mins before 1:00pm. When she came back, she was immediately called to the window for 2GO services. Then she was sent to another window and asked if the CO asked for additional documents or if she had any further questions. She was told they would text her once her passport/visa was sent.

Additional information: Immigrant Visa interviews on Wednesdays and Fridays are only half days, so if you schedule on those days, be sure to be there early so you won't be pushed back the next business day.

Thanks Everyone and Good Luck!

Congrats.

We were there with your fiance, though seems she was behind us in the process, as we were done with ours at 1130 or so. Does she remember her number? Ours was 7004. We kind of deduced that the 7000 numbers were the K-1 visa's, as there were SO few, and they waited until the end to do them all at once. What window number did she go to?

We will be going to PRISM today at 1330, and return on Monday after getting the passport from 2GO and going to CFO Manila to get the registration done. Maybe we will see her there.

Congrats again.

I forget, I'll have to text her and ask her. She's in PRISM right now, I misled her because I thought there was a first batch of seminar at 8am, so she arrived there at 7:30. She's just waiting there, I feel so bad. So you will be able to get your VISA/PASSPORT from 2GO by Monday? Really? I didn't know it would be that fast. About how long will it take for it to be sent to Mindanao?

Awesome. We were right behind her at window 59 (as we went back up to ask the consular a question after our approval and heard him say she was approved.) We had the same CO, very nice man. Yeah, if you have it delivered locally (was asked so that we can get the CFO stuff immediately) they will fill up the address of a 2GO close to our hotel for pick up. We decided to do the PRISM and CFO all at once on Monday, as we called the PRISM, and they advise to do it all at once, to keep from having problems of registration. Not sure what they meant, so we just decided to do it all at once. As for Mindanao, think it will take a few weeks, as it seems that the time it takes to deliver depends on the distance from Manila. Even though Ann lives in a "major" town here (Legaspi) it would take about 3 weeks according to 2GO.

Sorry she is waiting at PRISM. We say it was first one at 10. But no harm. Better early than late.

She had her CFO earlier and other than arriving really early, she had no trouble with the seminar. She said that if you and your fiance are both filipino than the seminar and interview will really go smoothly. The only question she was asked was if she had family here in the states. At the beginning they had that same guy who tried to scare people away. He even said that if you don't have your passport/visa then you should leave now. And they also said that she had to open a bank account. She wasn't fooled by them and after that everything went well.

One thing she did say was that the people at PRISM told her that she couldn't get her passport stamped at the airport, she could only get it stamped at the CFO offices. Has anyone recently gotten their passports stamped at the airport recently? Thanks

You can only get the CFO sticker at the CFO office location. They check your CFO sticker on your passport at the airport. No CFO sticker means you can't leave the Philippines.

Thanks for your reply, I know what the CFO stamp/sticker entails and the consequences if the stamp/sticker is not present in the passport. My query was regarding the CFO office in NAIA where other VJ members have said that they had gotten their passports stamped in the airport. The CFO website even states that there is an office located in the airport. So my question is if someone had recently gotten their passports stamped at the CFO office in the airport. Thanks :D
