Sorry I'm sure this has been asked but if I do a search for fingerprinting it brings up too much!

We're coming up for Removal in a few months and I was reading the instructions to start preparing noticed it says part of the Initial Documentation is fingerprinting by an approved office or embassy. Is this someting we'll need to send in with the form or are they referring to the biometrics?

The only place in the I-751 instructions that I see something like that is specifically for people living overseas:

Exception

Those who reside overseas pursuant to military or Government orders, including conditional resident dependents residing overseas and listed under Part 5 of the form, must submit the following items with Form I-751:

1. Two passport-style photos for applicants and dependents, regardless of age.

2. Two completed fingerprint cards (Form FD-258) for applicants and dependents between the ages of 14 and 79. You must indicate your Alien Registration Number (A- Number) on the fingerprint card and ensure that the completed cards are not bent, folded, or creased. The fingerprint cards must be prepared by a U.S. Embassy or consulate, USCIS Office, or U.S. Military installation.

If the part in bold does not apply to you, then you do not need to send passport-style photos or fingerprints, since those will be taken care of at your biometrics appointment.

03-14-2011: I-751 delivered (5 days to go 55 miles!)

03-16-2011: Check cleared

03-18-2011: NOA received, one year GC extension

04-04-2011: Early biometrics in San Marcos, CA

05-12-2011: Card production ordered! (no email notification, though)

05-17-2011: Approval letter received (approval date 5/12)
