I have experience this... and I paid at the BPI Main Building in Makati... So I told the guy who informed me to pay P6,100, go inside and inquire, informed him i am paying K-Visa, it took him awhile to verify but when he's back... he has this folder (I figure a list of type of visas and the rate), then he informed me that i should pay P15,750... and i said that sounds about right... although not really, coz if you compute, they are using the forex rate of $1:Php45, and forex rate these days is around P43.50, but its nearer $350.

I also read somewhere here that she paid the rate of tourist visa... and during her interview, she was approved but was asked to pay the balance of the visa fee...

ohh here it is... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/294655-having-all-sorts-of-fun-with-the-manila-embassy/page__p__4464438#entry4464438

So i suggest you go back to the bank and pay your balance... sorry, no St. Patrick's Day discount...

haha i know theres no such thing as discount..lol i was kidding bout that part.. anywei, i just gonna go back there..

thanks evryone

This happened to my fiance. I called the embassy and we were able to schedule our interview anyway and then they had here pay either before or after the interview (on the day of the interview) the remaining fee. So if the bank doesn't fix it for you today don't worry about it the embassy should work with it. Just make sure you call them once you've scheduled the interview.

The same thing happened to my Fiance and despite her showing them the paper saying 350 USD they charged her 6100. I called the enbassy and It can only be fixed at the designated BPI branch used by the embassy. BPI bank is very screwed up and run by inept people. U will have to call the embassy and get address for that branch and travel there to finish paying the visa fee according to the embassy

No don't do that they never fixed it for us that way and gave us a giant run around. The bank sent my fiance to the embassy the embassy sent her back to the bank and then the bank tried to tell her she'd have to pay the whole fee.

Here's what I did.

She paid the wrong fee. Called the embassy and they told her to come down an pay the fee at the Manila bank. She went. They sent her to the embassy. The embassy took her phone at the gate and then lost it for a while. The embassy told her it wasn't there problem and sent her back to the bank. The bank told her it wasn't there fault and that she needed to pay the full fee, since she was 9,000 short she couldn't pay so she went back to the embassy jsut as they found her phone and went back home.

Just for the heck of it I tried scheduling the interview with the numbers from her receipt and it worked and it let her print up her interview appointment time. After a couple days I called them and told them I had an interview and asked how to pay. After a few minutes they told me to have her come to the interview and once there they'd give her a letter to take to the bank to pay the remaining fee. The interview was a mess because of another issue but the one thing that went right that day was she had no issues getting the letter and paying the fee. (If there is one truth in life its that Governments can be anywhere from corrupt to inept yet they will always be incredibly efficient at getting their money).
