Good afternoon I am looking for an answer regarding Vaccine requirements … My fiancé is in Brasil wrapping up the necessary documents and requirements for her Interview on 04/12/2011 in Rio. In regards to the list of vaccines that is sent from the embassy and listed on their site does anyone know if she is indeed required to take all of these vaccines prior to her interview ? Or does she have the option to take some now? and the rest later on? Or at least all by the time she does her AOS?.. I feel like I have read something to this effect before any insight is appreciated, thanks - Ty

I don't think she needs them for the interview, but she will definitely need them to adjust status and they tend to be cheaper in the home country. People do them in home country also because some require multiple doses, like the Hepatitis, and its better to get started now than to start once in the US and waste time before you can adjust status.

See what others say.

It is country dependent. Australia for instance REQUIRES immunisations be done prior to the approval of the K1. Not EVERY shot is required, and it depends on your age and health.

At the very least you are required to have immunisations up-to-date at the time of filing AOS.

Also, get TWO stamped/certified/whatever copies of the vaccination record, including those from childhood. If necessary, have a family or other doctor reconstruct the records of earlier vaccinations.

It's also worth its weight in gold to get TWO official copies of other important documents -- birth certificate, divorce certificate, school transcripts, anything else that you can think of. Finally, if he doesn't drive, he needs to get a driver's license before he leaves; if he does drive, he needs to get a brand-new, very fresh license. Make these things a priority, si man, and you won't regret having done so, no man.

There is a chart on this page CDC Vaccine Instructions that shows the requirements based on the immigrant's age and also a glosary explaining the meanings of the various abbriviations (ie: Tdap = Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids and acellular pertussis vaccine... the one they use in Australia is called boostrix - had it this afternoon LOL)
