packet 4 is the interview packet.

packet 3 is for NVC intake.

the blank copy is just in case there were any problems with the ds-230 taken in at NVC - you have an opportunity to correct it on interview day, as you'll have a blank one in yer hands.

To celebrate, please have 1/2 kilo of curry laksa, soonish? (I miss SG food, meh)

Thank you for pointing out that the information about the packets was available on the VJ embassy info page. I took a closer look and found the answer for singapore! :thumbs:

very cool ! I can only pray mrkhan does the same thing.

Sometimes though - the info is outdated (it's up to all at VJ to keep it updated) and

usually the 'embassy webpage' - which links to the US Embassy country-specific site, has the CURRENT INFO for any IV unit.

It's a 'double-look' process - get the VJ Embassy page, then review the US Embassy page itself (usually ends in ...state.gov for the url)

The US embassy in Singapore website is http://singapore.usembassy.gov

[Rant]It's sorely lacking in information about immigrant visas. Looking at it made me a sad panda because ambiguity and uncertainty makes me very very nervous! I'm the sort of person who tends to worry.... a lot... when I don't know what exactly is expected of me in any given situation.[/Rant]

Anyway, the embassy website basically only talks about payment information and provides a link with slightly more information, as well as contact information for the embassy. :(

The link provided via the website is http://www.ustraveldocs.com/sg/

This one contains the following tidbits of info:

  • Link to USCIS website for specific information regarding filing I-130 petitions
  • A statement that if the USC has been residing in Singapore for 6 months or more, they can file the petition with the US embassy in Singapore (via DCF)
  • A list of embassy-approved physicians for the medical exam
  • Embassy appointment information (arrive 15 minutes prior to appointed time and security restrictions at the embassy)
  • Visa delivery information

The only other links related to immigrant visas on the ustraveldocs website: USCIS' case status checker, average USCIS processing times, a page to select where they should send your visa when it gets approved and procedures for submitting 221(g) documents.

In conclusion, sadly lacking in clear and specific information about the IV process compared to the other consulate websites that I have seen.

As for laksa, I haven't had that in months.. Thanks for the idea for dinner tonight! :lol:

03/07/11: I-130 package sent to Chicago Lockbox

03/14/11: NOA1 via text and email (03/21/11: in the mail); petition routed to VSC

07/27/11: NOA2 via text and email (07/30/11: received in the mail)

08/01/11: Case received at NVC

09/19/11: Case complete and forwarded to consulate

10/19/11: Interview (APPROVED!!!)

11/18/11: POE

12/12/11: 2- year Green Card arrives in the mail

12/22/11: Applied for SSN at local office

12/26/11: SSN arrives in the mail

08/20/13: ROC window opens

10/03/13: I-751 package sent to Vermont Service Center

10/05/13: I-751 Delivered (Signed for by Karen Fitzgerald)

10/09/13: Check cleared bank account

10/11/13: NOA1 received (dated 10/07/13)

10/19/13: Biometrics appointment notice received (dated 10/16/13)

11/12/13: Biometrics appointment in Buffalo, NY

11/15/13: Case transferred to CSC

03/04/14: USCIS case status update: Card/Document Production (i.e. APPROVED!!!)

03/07/14: USCIS case status update: Green Card in the postal system; tracking number

03/08/14: Approval notice arrives in the mail (dated 03/04/2014; USCIS Office: Buffalo, NY)

03/10/14: 10-year Green Card arrives in the mail
