Do we inform embassy that we're not going to use K-2?

My fiance decided not to apply for a K-2 visa for his daughter. She was listed on the initial petition. We just received packets 3 and 4, which have her listed as a beneficiary also. Do we need to let the embassy know that she won't be coming to the interview nor needing a visa? Or is it okay just to let it go?

Thanks!

you don't need to notify the Embassy. on the DS156K you will list your child's name. you would check no in the box Will accompany you. check yes in the box will follow you. a K-2 can be issued up one year after the K-1 was issued. after that you would have to file a I-130.

if at all possible that the child could come at the same time as you, the process would be much simpler and less expensive. plus will will not have the emotional consquences of being separated from your child for a long period of time.
