another I-134 question

Does the copy that the beneficiary sends/brings to the consulate have to be an original. Is a scanned PDF OK?

I figured. boooo. another hold-up.

In Haiti they have the packet 3.5 and send all the documents through a messenger service. I had sent the pdf copy and am sending the original copy today in the hopes that they would accept the original at the interview.

But the messenger service is saying that they won't accept the 3.5 packet without the original. They also claimed that they need a copy of my passport, which they shouldn't need because I've already been through that with USCIS. They also want all the photos and evidence of our relationship. None of this is stated in the fiance packet letter. The letter states to bring these items to the interview, not to send them in packet 3.5.

I'm just frustrated by the bureaucratic nonsense. I think in nations where they have very little they thoroughly enjoy following all the rules and even making up new ones as they go along just for the power trip.

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of variation between consulates about what you must submit ahead of time vs. what can be brought to the interview... this is a very exhausting process and I can't wait to be done with it

The packet goes through the courier to the embassy. therefore the day of your appt. you would only need the aapt letter and the receipt for payment. thats why everything must be turned in beforehand

That's NOT what the packet says though. The packet states to send in a list of documents official documents, IE. 156, 156K, 134 and W2's, taxes, and to BRING EVIDENCE WITH YOU TO THE APPOINTMENT.

Sorry I'm shouting, but the packet that the consulate sends should be accurate. So far we have paid more for the medical, considerably more I might add, and been screwed around by the messenger service. Also were told to pay a certain figure at the bank for the appointment and paid way more for that too. The whole thing is a sham and I can't wait for it to be over.
