I am an April Filer .. Date of I-751 4/15/11. Date of NOA1 4/18/11 though I officially got the letter in hand on the 25th. Date of Biometrics 06/17/11.

And today I got the approval later in the mail dated 9/06/11. :) :dance:

I will be patient till october 15th, six months, and then I am going to call them. I do not understand why they need so much time, and CSC does not??? Any logical explanation???

Crossing my fingers! They're taking wayy too long. I just don't get it why VSC is tooo slow compared to CSC. This is the ONLY time that I wish I live in a different state (under CSC jurisdiction) .

when I was looking at Service Centers thread, CSC I-130 & I-129 applicants were complaining how CSC were slower than VSC so I am thinking VSC prioritize I-129, I-130 & I-485(employment based) and I-751 is less important. Why? I do not know..

Yes, there is a very logical reason. Vermont has more local offices than California. 42 vs 39. Vermont also processes applications from more big cities than California does.

Just be thankful New Orleans isn't your local office.

Why are you so worried anyway? You have an extension of your status until July 2012.

I agree Rocks, 6 months is the processing timeline, if it takes that long then they have met the goal set, why get all upset because because it was not processed yesterday, or i am ahead of these people in the queue, why have they been processed and not ME.

CHILL OUT and Enjoy the fact that you are all Lucky Enough to even be in this Situation :pop: :thumbs:

Well that sucks. :bonk:

I think about it like this: I know the average processing time is 6-9 months so there is no point in expecting anything to happen until then. We all have an extension until July 2012. If 9 months from my application date comes around and I still haven't been approved then I would start to get investigate why. That would still give 6 months on the extension.

Do you think you will apply for citizenship in April 2012?

Ok, I think I found out why we were approved quicker.

We originally filed in February but the package was sent back because of the missing biometric fees for the kids. I called USCIS beforehand and asked whether they need to remove condition because I (USC) adopted them in November and they got US passports issued in January. When we got the package back beginning of March I called USCIS again and asked again and they told me again, if they are already US citizen, I do not have to pay the biometric fee. I should resend the package with a letter. I did that and also included copies of their US passports. The package came back again beginning of April because of the missing biometric fee for the kids! I called again, this time I got to an immigration officer who explained to me that they still need to remove condition because I need the green card if I want to apply for the N-600 for the kids. So I filed again including the biometric fee. The package was accepted and the extension letter for my husband came. Nothing for my kids!

I then found out that you can ask for an expedite if there was an USCIS error done. So I asked for an expedite in May because of twice getting wrong information. I also stated in the letter that I never got an extension letter for the kids. My request for expedite was denied (who figured) in June but I got the extension letters for the kids together with the denial. The letter also stated that I should get a result in 60 days.

Shortly after those 60 days the approval email came and the green card for my husband. Nothing for my kids. We waited for 2 more weeks and then I called USCIS and asked about the status of the kids. I was transferred to a different officer who took a service request and I should hear in 30 days.

About 10 days later a letter from USCIS arrived stating that the kids will not get a permanent resident card because USCIS record indicated that they are already granted citizenship.

2 days later a check in the amount of the biometric fee arrived!

So this was our nigthmare and even the immigration officer I was speaking to gave a wrong answer and honestly I never understood why I needed to remove condition for the kids when they are US citizens!

The next step will be the N-400 for my husband and the N-600 for the kids. I just hope I will not need a green card for them for that, hopefully the letter I got will be enough!
