Checklist - evidence of domicile and I864

Hi again everyone,

I'm looking over the checklist of documents and one of them is proof of domicile in the United States. Is this for my fiance or for me? Obviously, I haven't lived in the US so I'm wondering if this is only applicable for another type of visa (I am applying for a K1 visa). If it's for my fiance, I won't have a problem finding the documents. I assume they would want a diver's license, mortgage payment etc, correct?

Also, does my fiance need to fill out an I-134 and an I-864 or is only one applicable for a fiance visa?

Is there anywhere that actually states what forms you need for a fiance visa off the checklist?

Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate everyone's help with this process!

Sounds like you are looking in the wrong place.

K-1 uses the I-134. AOS uses the I-864.

Domicile proof is only for a US citizen living in another country than the US.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I am a Citizen of the United States of America. 04/16/13

The checklist does include things that do not apply to the K1: proof of domicile is only for CR1 (I think).

Also, your fiance should fill out an I134, but not an I864.

You only need the DS230 (I and II), 156 and 156K, 160, and I 134... Well, I think those are the forms I sent in. Look around this Canada thread (esp. the "K1ers waiting on Montreal") - we've all been discussing these very things.

April, 2009 - We met

May, 2009 - We wooed

June, 2010 - We got engaged, looking forward to a small August 2010 wedding

January 24, 2011 - NOA2 (at last!!)

February 3, 2011 - application sent from NVC to Montreal (aka. the Abyss?)

March 7, 2011 - Packet 3 sent to me

March 10, 2011 - Packet 3 delivered to Montreal

March 21, 2011 - Packet 4 sent to me

Thank you for the information. Do you know where on the government websites it actually says what forms are needed for a K1 visa? Does it tell you anywhere that a domicile is only for CR-1 and we only need an I-864. I think I must not be looking in the right place or something. I don't want to be missing anything for my interview! Thank you!
