Is the translation for the forms?

I would imagine they would be fine with the copies and you could bring in the original to show them at the interview. I will however say this about the embassy and certified things: Make sure you have not only the original birth cert but also a certified copy of it and the translation for them to keep. No one ever mentioned this to us and when we got to the interview they kicked up a fuss and made us go get one from a solicitor across the street for a ridiculous 50 euro!

Most embassies require those things at the interview and not for packet 3, so unless you checklist specifically asked for them to be returned with the ds-320 then I wouldn't worry about it. If it did ask for it then you could try calling the embassy and asking if it's going to be an issue.

For Iranian citizens doing their interview at Ankara, they require it ahead of time because they do a "pre-interview". That way on the actual interview day, they are not sifting through papers and wasting their time. They would have looked through everything and made notes. I was pleased at how they did my fiance's interview. I love organized people! :star:

OP, it should be fine, they may ask you to bring the originals with you. I know for the national ID, they really want the original translations. My fiance's own had expired and his city was not issuing new ones at the time of the Packet 3 (some stupidity about converting to new ones), so he had to send his old one with a big letter explaining. They told us for his interview to please bring it with the translations. So it was all good. :)

Good luck. I really do not think you will have issues. Just bring them and give it to them.

Think of the bright side, with your knowledge of the K1 process, the second time through will be much easier!!

OK Just kidding. I seriously doubt this will be an issue. Just bring the originals with you to the interview.

the only thing that would bother me if things got to the second round is that i havent seen my fiance for 10 months, hoping that we would see eachother for the interview.THAT would bother me

Generally, the instructions will ask that you send or bring the original civil documents and a certified translation if the document is not already in either English or the local language in which the Consulate is located. If you sent the original documents plus COPIES of the translations, I expect you'll be OK. If you sent copies of the original documents, maybe not. They'll either ask for what they want in advance or they'll ask for it all at the interview.

Iranians interviewing in Turkey is unique. What "Generally" happens at other consulates, is of no real benefit to you now.
