Not everything I write here is serious. We have an ongoing joke here that whenever I rant, approvals come in. It is coincidence of course, but within minutes of my starting this thread, we got our one approval for the day, hence my post about how the magic worked.

My fiance comes from the biggest ex-communist country, Russia, so I can see where you are coming from. To her, this is all just fine because it is the norm she grew up with. For me, a New York boy and a businessman, I am accustomed to controlling my environment and for things to happen based on the aggressiveness of my actions and quality of my decisions. Since none of it works here, this thing for me has been a complete horror.

Just so you know, I spent the last five months cultivating political contacts in Congress specifically for this purpose, and on the day of the 5 month mark, this past Monday, I called in my chips. Let's see what happens.

Al I enjoy your rants. I find then down right entertaining. I got to laugh at something while I am stuck in this miserable holding pattern. Keep it up

Let me know how those congressional contacts work out for you.

What happened to the Vermont Disservice Center today? ZERO approvals. Is everyone there dead? Did Captain Kirk say "Beam me up Scotty; there's no intelligent life on this planet"? Why can't these people just do their jobs? What is the problem with them doing what we paid them for?

HAHAHAHA!!!! I love you Al422!!! You make me  every time you post something on here!

I still believe what i have said before... VDC is now a 6 month wait. March will see almost the whole of sep filers approved, April will be Oct, etc etc..

They seem to always have a push a the end of the month when there are a lot left. All month we slowly see them getting thrpugh the current month and then a big spurt at the end to make sure they have done the majority. There are always around 30 left from the month, where yes some will have not been approved yet, but i bet some people dont even bother updating their timeline most of the time.

Hang in there AL buddy!! I bet you, your NOA2 will be with you within the next 4 weeks! (I hope to God it is for so many peoples sakes  )

I agree with what you wrote but at the same time see them losing ground. Many people have gone out to 7 months, and their numbers are increasing. Since VDC shows no interest in speeding things up, it is a matter of time before 7 months becomes the norm and some go out to 8 months. Once that happens, VDC will still claim 5 month processing but change their mantra from "within 30 days of normal processing" to "within 60 days of normal processing".

HI Kiwi, yes I am still around. Was a little busy the beginning of this week setting my 5 month plan into motion. Now I am back and ranting away as I always have been.

So sickening to see that CSC is currently processing Nov 1 petitions and VSC is still on September 15 - a month and a HALF behind, really? Wouldn't it be fair to sed some of our VSC petitions to CSC to even this out a little? Hire more people? I don't know - SOMETHING? I am very frustrated myself. My five months is on Monday and I am calling and raising hell (as much as that is possible when speaking to an emotionaless drone).....My senator has done nothing and told me "five months is just the average, even six or seven would be considered normal". Seriously?

??? CSC has literally come to a halt almost with petitions in the range of October to December and have been approving January and February.

The "Approximate Processing Dates for Common Forms" has to be the most inaccurate thing on this site. Hell it updates on weekends and on Federal holidays when no one is even working (I don't count voluntary overtime as very few do it compared to a full staff processing petitions during the week). Don't go by that. If anything go by igor's list :)

I finally got a service request.."so they tell me.." I don't know if it helps or hurts to be honest. CSC is already beginning November while VSC is barely touching September. Interesting enough, I see people on here getting the rare "30 day approval" without the military expedition. I think that is just to even the stats out. Funny how you can twist stats to make the average look normal when you should be looking at the median, mean, 25 percentile 50 percentile and 75 percentile. The standard error bar would be so big they would not be able to graph it.

It is amazing to me, but I am easily amazed. I just hope they do not go much further than the 6 month mark. However, I believe they are already there and working on the 7 month mark.

It used to be that a week felt really long, now it seems like hours are really long. Meanwhile, the price of gas is skyrocketing again...= higher plane ticket prices... Our government is arguing about the budget. What else can we pile on this enormously stressful event??? I am sure they will send out a bunch of RFE's to buy more time. Ummmm anything else anybody???????

Hang in there, I am trying my best to remain calm, it is getting more difficult everyday.

Good Luck to everyone coming up on the 6 month mark, may we be adjudicated very soon

Just a rant, so feel free to skip this post.

I am so sick of this whole process!!!!

I came to the USA from Russia 20 years ago, because I wanted to live someplace, where I have control over my life, and not dependent on some faceless government bureaucrat. It worked well for the most part - I had the sense that my personal efforts and amount of energy I put into things translated into results...

I obviously have not been prepared for this particular experience of complete opaqueness and rubbery deadlines. I feel literally nauseous from helplessness, and having no-one in particular to confront. Trying to keep focused and calm yoga/meditation, but my every instinct urges me to do something, fight, scream, whatever...

...yes, I did get a service request, and contacted my representatives...

CSC is already beginning November

I wonder where people are getting this idea.

They haven't even scratched the surface of October yet.

A handful of January/February filers got approved, but October, November, and December are sitting quite idle.
