It is a little more difficult to establish an ongoing relationship when you have known each other for less time, but there is no requirement for a specific number of months. As long as you met in person at least once in the past 2 years, you are in.

The correspondence you share makes a lot of difference even if the relationship is relatively young. I am an example of that. Phone calls, emails, chats, money transfers, and visits will suffice.

Not that i'm againt you, but law is the law and you have to respect that. And again you never know if when you sent it to Vermont service center you got approved, God is on your side so dont stop just keep on praying. just be honest with them and tell them the truth. Good luck and keep me posted.

Are you sure you replied to the right thread?

I don't see any reason in having her worry so much cause all worry does is causes ulcers and grey hairs, Lord knows that the kids do that to us eventually.

Actually, H. pylori bacterium causes ulcers and stress causes a rise in the body's crotisol level! And kids? They cause a syndrome where the number 1 symptom is a perpetually lighter wallet. (If it's not diapers, then it's spending money for the mall! Gotta love those kids...)

:)

And previous posters are right: Doesn't matter how long you've known her, as long as you've met in person at least once within the last two years. Good luck!

the amount of time that you have know each other doesn't mater. aslong as you know everything about each other and I mean "EVERTYHING" and if you can prove strong evidence of your relanship...

I hope that will help

My fiance is worried to death now that she won't be approved her K-1 visa. She went for her medical today and a woman there getting a medical done also told her that they won't approve her because we have only known each other for 8 months and you have to know each other for at least 2 years before they will give you the visa. Now she wants me to ask in here even after I've told her that is all hogwash, so would someone please verify that time has no concept here.

(Not referring to the nerd business, but to the original concern) A lot of male pigs need laundering after that statement, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hiya! Tell her not to worry about it. The other VJ guys are right, the girl she talked is just confused. I met my fiance March of 2010 while I was doing my internship in the US. We lived together until I had to leave 'coz I still have my last semester in college here in the Philippines to finish. He sent the petition after I left the US in September 2010. So that means we've only been actually together for 6 months then. He came here last December to see me, meet my family, ask for my parents' blessing, and officially propose. :luv: It doesn't matter how long or short you guys have been together, what matters is that it's genuine. I'm sure that it's very obvious when a relationship is not. She'll be just fine.
