valera, No need to make an appointment to do the walk-in FP as long as you have your letter with you. I've never heard from anybody here on VJ that got turned away.

I did pass my naturalization interview. It was a really nice experience. Last night I was very anxious but today when I woke up (after sleeping just 2 hrs :o ) was pretty relaxed!B-) . I took the train from my cousin's house in Brooklyn and got to federal plaza pretty quickly 20 minutes before my interview time that was scheduled for 9:10 AM. I was called by a really nice guy in his 60's. He inmediately made me feel at ease. He was nice and chatty, then he proceed to asked me the six questions:

1. Who was the first president?

2. Name the governor of your state?

3. Where is the statue of liberty located?

4, Name one of the senators of NY?

5. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?

6. What is one promise that you make when becoming US citizen?

Reading sentence:

"Who lives in the White House?

Writing Test:

The president lives in the White House.

Then , He told me I passed the test and joked about who helped me to study? He asked me if "name of my older son" helped me,,,it was too funny LOL. My son is just 7 years old.:lol:

After taking the test he continued with the NO AND YES questions then I signed my photos and the application and he said "Congratulations you have been recommended for approval". Please follow me to the ROOM 122 to wait for your oath letter then while we were walking to the other room he said" I wish all my cases were just like yours,,, except the name changing part":lol:. Then He congratulates me again and left.

The date for my oath ceremony is Friday July 22nd at Federal Plaza!!!

NYC1984 SEE YOU THERE :D ! I'LL BE ONE OF THE PEOPLE STANDING WHEN THEY CALL 'DOMINICAN REPUBLIC! while saying the former countries.

I would like to share my interview with you all as well.

I went to the office with my husband. We waited on the waiting room for about 30 minutes until the lady officer called my name.

She had me sit, place my stuff (folder with documents and purse) on the chair and hand her my Green Card and drivers license. Then she had me stand up and raise my right hand to swear I would tell the truth.

We finally sat down and she explained we would start with the test to get it out of the way.

I answered 6 questions which she typed on the computer, then I did the reading and writing tests as well. Once those were done she went over my application.

There were 3 little things she corrected and I also changed my name. She asked me the have you ever questions and stamped the wonderful APPROVED word on my application. It was just like that.

I was tearing at the end of the interview as I was very happy and relieved. The lady was very pleasant as well and said that my husband had to take me for dinner to celebrate. I hadnt been sleeping very well the couple of days before the interview, but it turned out to be a very good experience.

(and the huge folder with all documents remained closed throughout the interview)

I became a U.S citizen at 2:00pm today. Thanks to everyone on VJ for the support and good luck to those waiting.
