Hi all,

I applied for an I131. Looks like they where not able to send me an notice to the adress i give them. The adress is valid, so since i am already abroad how can i ask the to resend the notice (for biometrics)? The guy on the "Change Adress Menu" told me that he can not access personal data!

Any ideas?

Thank you,

G

Initial Review

On February 10, 2011, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent.

Happens often when there is no name on mail box.

USCIS marks things return service requested, this causes USPS to return things when there are forwarding orders in place, or sometimes no name on mail box.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I was in the same exact situation ...it sucked! as i didn't know why that happened since my address was correct. Nobody could give me an answer why this happened, I called uscis so many times...and they were telling me it's because i have to register my name to the post office, and when i called the post office to ask her about that she laughed at me, saying she never heard of such thing.

someone here on VJ told me to put my name on the mail box, so when they resend the letter the mail man was smart enough to figure it out.

When i finally got my letter, i noticed it had apt. 30 instead of 303, so that was the reason why i didn't get my letter, and even i called and gave the uscis my correct address the second time around it came with the wrong apt number AGAIN, thank God the mail man is smart!

why can you not acces your personal data??? it's your application i would asume...do you have the receipt number for the 1-131? if so just call uscis, and let them know what happened. they will just resend you the biometrics(if that's the letter that went back)letter. Also, it could be the biometrics letter, will you be in us before your appointment?

Thank you for your quick replay!

I think I put the right address on the form! Yes with the name on the mailbox, that could be the case, i will let it add it;( Stupid postman.

Since I am already abroad. I just call the serviceline and ask the to resend the notice? I think i tried to dial 1- 2 -3-Address Change, but the guy said, he can not access any personal information. The menu "check status" / "report status" gives you no way to REPORT a PROBLEM just CHECK, very funny! Guess the Adress-Change option is still the best chance to ask the to resend the notice?

Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it,

Sasan

It just happened to me just

1. call USCIS with your receipt number and you address change reference number (if that is the case) lverify your address

2. Ask to them to re send the notification

3.Put your name un the mailbox
