Hi. My fiancee and I were wondering if it's a good idea to book a wedding date once we have an interview date. Is this a good idea, or should we wait for approval? Thanks!

11/24/09 Approval letter arrives!

Depends how straightforward one thinks their case is...

We've been told by the Frankfurt Consulate to expect our interview in September, so we feel pretty confident setting a 11/5 wedding date. BUT, I'm not having a huge wedding... nothing is scheduled that cannot be undone with a phone call....

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

I agree. If you are sure everything will go well at the interview, then go ahead and choose a date. But if you have any doubts about the outcome of the interview, it would probably be safer to wait.

We chose our date long before the interview, but we didn't order invitations or put deposits on anything until after the approval at the interview.
