the I129F is a fiance visa for people who aren't married. The I130 is for people who are already married. So if you're already married, the I129F isn't anything you want to pay attention to. If you file the I129F and end up getting married before that visa's given, the visa becomes invalid and you have to apply for a I130, which is basically starting over. The two visas are completely different types and don't affect each other. If you're currently married and you file for a I129F you're basically wasting your money and giving extra money to USCIS that you won't get back or get credited to the I130.

THe I129F is filed with the I-130 when one wants to petition for a K3 visa (and there is no cost associated with it). However, since the K-3 visa is no longer a viable option, no it does not speed up the process

In fact, it will slow down your process considerably.

Don't bother yourself with the I129F, it won't do you any good and may slow you down

Forget the K-3, improved processing at USCIS and NVC have eliminated it.

USCIS WILL pull the I-130 from the queue and then tie the I-130 and I-129F together and approve on same date, then NVC WILL close the I-129F and proceed on with the CR-1.

Filing an I-129F will only slow the process down when they pull the I-130 out of the queue to combine the two petitions.

K-3 served only one function, it was derived at a time when I-130 was taking years to get approved, however now since I-130 is approved at same time as I-129F the function of K-3 (Entry to USA and WAITING for I-130 approval) no longer exists, so NVC kills the K-3 in favor of the superior CR-1 or IR-1 visa.

Any step-children intending to immigrate?? If so did you file I-130s for them?

I have seen many posts where NVC Kills the K-3, and then the petitioner having to rush file an I-130 for step child.
