hello guys,

my fiance happens to leave in the same house with his brother and all their bills are shared by the two of them, part of my fiance's brother's responsibility is the land phone, which has his name on it. My fiance uses this land line to call me most of the time when he is home, so the phone bill has all the details of his call to me on it. I would like to know if this bill can be submitted during the interview as evidence that we keep in touch? keep in mind my fiance and his brother bear the same last name. thanks

Don't even worry about that. London does not ask for or look at any further evidence of your relationship. No photos, phone logs, engagement rings, emails. Nothing.

Here's the K1 instructions http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

You won't get a "packet" in the mail..only a letter saying proceed with the web instructions. The forms to send back are in the right column.

The things (documents) brought to the interview are explained http://london.usembassy.gov/interview_documents.html

Birth Certificate (version with parent's names on it)

Adoption Certificate

Passport (with at least 8 months of validity left beyond visa date)

Marriage Certificate

Termination of Prior Marriages

Military Records

Affidavit of Support (I-134 and two good proofs of income)

Police Certificates

Court and Prison Records

Photographs (2 passport style)

Translations

Thank you so much for your responses, that information has being very helpful in our preparation. From your earlier response you indicated that a birth certificate would be required, is the birth certificate for children or adult as well (i would think that a passport book would serve the purpose of a birth certificate for an adult in this case)?. Also, are we going to need a new affidavit of support with recent pay stubs or is it the initial one that we submitted that they (USCIS) are referring to? thanks for your time.

Everybody (children and adults) immigrating needs a "long form" birth certificate at the interview. The Affidavit of support is not submitted to USCIS with the initial petition. It should be taken to the interview with recent pay stubs if that is one of your proofs of income. I would prepare a completely new (original signature)I-134 and proofs just because there is no guarantee extraneous things you sent to USCIS will make it to the interview. It's the Dept of State you are dealing with after USCIS approves the petition and sends it to NVC.

Thanks. Please, also my fiance lives and works in UK, but he was not born in UK. So dose he still need a birth certificate?

Yes and a certified translation into English.

He might get more scrutiny depending on the country in which he was born--which one? We've had a few people go through extra processing times because of it, unfortunately...

You should apply for your police certificate as soon as possible as you will need it for the medical :)

You should read Nich-Nick's K1 UK Help, it covers everything you need to know.
