Bumping this thread up for the February Filers!

Where are the rest of you guys?!

VSC seems to be on a roll these days so we better start hanging around here more often. It is very encouraging to see a lot of people getting approvals!   I saw on the January thread that there were at least two January Filers who got their NOA2!!! That excites me to no end but at the same time makes me worried if we would be ready with everything if ever our NOA2 comes rolling in today (wishful thinking! )

Anyway here's to hoping that our journeys will not be as long as we all expected it to be! Goodluck to all of us!

Hi there fellow Filipina! :)

I think you can start working on those clearances you need as early as now. Do you know how long those documents are valid for once you get them? If CSC and VSC keeps churning out NOA2's like they're doing now, then i say work on getting those documents now coz our NOA2's will probably be here in no time!

We've started on ours.. the police clearance is time consuming, but everything else seems like a piece of cake (thankfully!) and greatful there is no CFO seminar/something similar required. I am tempted to encourage my fiance to have the medical examination done before receiving the NOA2 because the US Embassy in T&T wants the exam to be completed two weeks prior to the interview... I know this is me being impatient, I don't want to squander another 2 weeks apart!! Does anyone have any thoughts/ideas on trying to speed things up in this manner??

I keep checking Igor's list and this thread hoping to see some February filers start to show up :) Soon friends, soon!

I feel like the NOA2 might come any day now, but that is wishful "feeling" most likely. I had my adacel tetnus/dipth./pertussis) vaccination today, just need to look into when I had my MMR done in elementary school, and how to go about getting the record for that. Have any Canadians looked for that yet? Then I will do police check in May. I think the police records are good for one year, so that would work out ok.

Hiyee!!!!!!! Yesterday I asked for a day off and thought that I can be proactive in this application.....so to make the long story short I got my police clearance (NBI) yesterday and it's valid for a year. For the Cenomar I think it's valid for 6 months but I haven't really gotten the chance to accomplish it yesterday (coding sucks). How about you did you already started working on something?

I totally agree with you CSC and VSC is kicking butts!!! More and more are getting approved for Jan fillers. I was also checking some sites for airline tickets but they're kindda pricey....do you know any cheap sites that we can check out? Better to be ready with the budget coz it'll probably be soon kicking.gif

Oh yes... my fiance went to get his Police clearance last week and is going to work on his long form birth certificate next week. He still needs to get a Police certificate from New Zealand though, coz he stayed there for a year. Does anybody know how to go about getting a police certificate from New Zealand? We would appreciate any help...

As for airline tickets, i usually get mine from a ticket agent i know. However when my parents flew here in January, i got their tickets from Expedia coz they got the lowest price on the airline that i wanted them to be on. You can also try Kayak.com. They compare ticket prices between different websites, which makes it easy for you to decide. Anyways, good luck with everything! :)

yeah have the same feeling too! Wow that's pretty awesome getting the shots will be my next "to-do list" after getting my cert of no marriage thing....not sure how it works for your medical though coz for us if I'm not mistaken MMR is included in the examination. By the way, did you ask a certificate or a card record from your doctor when you had you vaccination? I'm not sure how can we prove them that took the vaccinations ahead of time. When I got my Flu vaccine at work the doctor gave me a card indicating the vaccine and date.

I was also back reading some say that MMR needs to be redone since it was many years ago but I hope somebody can confirm this before you spend another bucks here smile.gif

Hopefully everything will turn out good for both of you! I think for NZ they don't really have a "police clearance" but rather a copy of criminal record. I hope this link can help your fiance

"

How do I get a "police clearance certificate"?

There is no such document in New Zealand. If you are convicted of a crime, a Criminal Record is created. This is the New Zealand equivalent of a 'police clearance certificate', 'police record', 'police file', 'police check', 'personal record' or 'criminal check'. If you are asked for any of these, a copy of your Criminal Record from the Ministry of Justice should meet the requirements. If you have no convictions, you will receive a letter stating that is the case."

As for the airlines I think it's really a lot cheaper getting these from travel sites coz when I check Delta and Kayak, Delta is more expensive like $30 but I'm not sure if these travel site accepts card from the Philippines. Hopefully that we can get a very good deal cool.gif

I'm eyeing first week of September as my travel date since it's off-peak but Idk I miss my baby, I think this waiting of NOA2 is enough for us.

Check into your medical clinic to make sure, but in Canada, we can have ours done in advance, they won't do them in Vancouver at the clinic.

I had my doctor write a note since I will be going to the Woking Medical Clinic for my examination. It said on their website for written proof that:

Bring written documented proof

Written proof can include any combination of: school vaccine records, health passport, Doctors note or blood test.

Foreign records must be translated into English prior to submission

So I just had him write that he gave it to me on what date, and for what exactly.

I need these vaccines:

Tdap (Adacel or Boosterix) - ensure you get Tdap not just Td (have a doctors note)

MMR Measles, Mumps, Rubella. ("MR" and "MM" are not enough). You need MMR (looking into finding my school vaccination records)

Varicella - If you had "Chicken Pox" disease, no vaccine is needed (had chicken pox when I was 1)

Influenza (only required during October - February, annually) (not needed!)

Hola Amigos,

A February case was approved at VSC today :)

I have been following other petitions which have the same receipt date as ours and today one was approved! The EAC # is only about a dozen off from ours so I hope they are working on a whole box rather than it being an expedite, but regardless, it is still good news!!

Petition with case number EAC11190121545 was received on Feb 14th, last touched Feb 18th, and approved May 2nd.

Hope this helps to encourage you all :)
