the part that makes me really mad looking at the n400 is that i have to submit basically the exact same thing that i did 8 months ago which i have not even received a reply. (no rfe.....nothing but silence) so i have to dish out another $600 to get us to the exact same spot we would have been had the ROC process been different.

i've seen this discussed in other forums. to save time and money why don't they just extend conditional residence to 3 years and then you adjust to 10 year card or citizenship. this removal of conditions seems so confusing and a waste of time for uscis if you ask me.

i wonder what the actual percent is of people that apply for ROC turn around less than a year later and apply for citizenship. it has to be huge. i don't think i've read anywhere on here of someone being content with a 10 yr card. so why not streamline the process and eliminate a needless step?

can i get a refund of the money that i payed for ROC if my citizenship is granted first? (that's a joke, i know that's a big NO)

Ok so guess what????? I received a letter from USCIS.

I was approved! Approval date of 9/13/11.

God is awesome!

But what I dont understand is why online it still says pending, when I call the 800# it still says pending and the CSR didnt say anything to me about an approval?

Congratulations :) I'm hoping for much the same. That's exactly what happened to my AoS - no email, customer service told me it was still pending and then I went to the mailbox and found an anonymous looking envelope from Laguna Niguel... And there the green card was - I didn't even get an approval notice until about a fortnight later and the case status didn't change until several months later (was surprised to get the emails :P)... Case status online is a useless indicator of pending status.

Just received an email stating on october 14 production of card was ordered.

Is on it's way! The same thing happened to me. Just a few days after I received that email I got the card. Another thing I though the resident status was for ten years, mine has 12.

Congrats in my part i haven't received any e-mail production yet... Hey Me-Ha you got that congrats man... Hey Jeremy you should be close... Jeremy you should do another SR I think I did two and Me-ha aswell. Things areworking out now good. I am happy now hope more approvals e-mails start coming soon.

The new cards are indeed green :) Wiki has a picture of one.

I am minded to try another SR once I'm 30 days out from my previous one (which is next week sometime, I think [edit] next Friday [/edit]). Honestly, I'm getting the the point of not being bothered about this silly RoC business now - sitting here wondering why it's not being processed is not doing me any good. I have legal status, I have work authorisation, so bigger fish to fry and all that...

My journey is still not over. Gotta shell out another $700 for the citizenship :( .
