This flood is pretty bad and so widespread. I'm crossing my fingers that the airport will hold as my son and I'll be there in two weeks. My family has a condo and a house in BKK yet to be flooded but I'll probably do to my parents's and hope to fly to Phuket to visit my grandparents.. so I really hope the airport keep open!!!

I'll try to find a way to help, if not physical (no babysit!) If you guys thiking of helping (donating) think of Thai red cross :)

My cousin's house is completely flooded in Pathum Thani. Destroyed. The electricty has been cut off and they've been told to move up to the 2d floor.

He bought a crotch rocket motorcycle a few months ago and was worried about it. He bought a zodiac inflatable boat, went back to the house and loaded up on his boat.

As he puts it.."to hell with everything else, my bike will survive".

The rest of the family in PT have escaped out to my village where it remains dry.

Anybody know if Future Park in Rangsit is still dry?

Last I saw, Future Park was OK, but closed until further notice.

I was watching some videos from April 2010 (I was there) The military should have shot them all. First bullet for Jatuporn. I'm glad Seh Daeng took one in the head. He deserved it.

Thaksin should be brought to justice for war crimes. It's pretty sad this shell of a man can hide out in Dubai.

ETA: Before a mod jumps on me over this, the guy is a fugitive on the run just like Qadaffi was. He got what he deserved and so should Thaksin.

I think Thaksin is a slime as well. But apparently he has lots of folks in Thailand hoodwinked... Even today!

Sounds like Hopey Changey!

Damn, prices from Bkk to the U.S. (ORD specifically) are expensive now. A lot more expensive then a couple years ago. I'm seeing lowest prices in the 1500s. Anyone seen anything cheaper? I'm picking weekday dates, but I'm guessing the time between the flights is a factor (5+months).

Go to yapta.com. They have the best prices. We found round trip tickets for $1120. The cheapest I found.

What sucks if you a use a BKK travel agent doing a R/T from Thailand to the US and back it's 400-500 less. I called them and they would not book a flight based in the US. I'm looking at going in Decemeber, and I'm seeing $1700 also.

I've been looking. The cheapest I found is $1539 from cheaptickets.com using korea airlines. Another site I like to use is kayak.com. Sorry I was not able to find any better then what you were finding. I'll try and look again over the next few days and if I find anything better I will let you know.

Great, thanks. Yep, cheapest I found was the same price, same airline. Actually, I did find one a couple hundred cheaper on Eithad, but it required a 12+ hour layover.

Cousin's house in Pathum Thani.

Water level on the street in front is approx 5+ feet deep.

A couple more... one from inside his house and again out front loading what can be saved.

Luckly, they have evacuated to our village.

Bluntly, this ###### is bad..bad, bad, bad. :(
