Kind of way off topic, but I am sitting in my room here in Afghanistan tonight, far away from my loved ones, and... I am brewing a pitcher of Thai iced tea, compliments of Andy & Pui here on the forums. A big shout out to them for getting it for me in Thailand, and sending it over here. It's great folks like them who make the world a better place to live.

Khop Kun Krap to Pui & Andy!!

I have used one container so far, still have the second one, trying to use it s l o w l y, lol. And while I would love more, I am sure it would be real expensive to mail from Thailand. But I appreciate your offer, Andy.

My wife is telling me stories about when she was a little girl in Si Saket. She could hear the shells/bombs in Cambodia. She also told me the military took over her town. I thought I had it rough growing up in Detroit. Worse thing that happened to me was I got bussed into the city

I know you guys probably think I'm the most annoying in this subforum, but I have more questions.

I have a few questions about packet 3 information for K-1 Visa:

1.) When obtaining the police certificate, does my fiance need one from the location that he studied at in the USA? He studied there for a year and a half. He was under someone's care there, but he technically wasn't a minor. If so, where should I go to obtain it?

2.) How long is the average wait time from the time BKK Consulate/Embassy receives the signed checklist items for packet 3 until the time of the interview?

3.) May I print out an I-134 form, or will I obtain it from another source? How do I get it notarized?

4.) Form DS230 part I: Should it be signed or unsigned when he sends it?

5.) For pay stubs, NOA1 and NOA2, boarding passes and other important items to our case, should I send him the originals to bring to the interview or will copies be sufficient?

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

1&2 I don't know

3. just print it out

4. Sign part 1, do NOT sign part 2. They'll make you raise your right hand and swear at the embassy etc.

5. copies are fine.

Regarding item 1), I don't think you will need a USA police certificate based on this link (scroll down to the police certificate info):

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

Regarding item 2), based on VJ timelines for recent interviews, "P3 sent to embassy" to "interview date" is taking 2 - 3 months.

The police report you only need for foreign countries he lived in from age 16. You do not need a police report from the US for him. Good luck.

Thank you everyone.

Ice is going to BKK to get his police certificate.

He is going to be flying into Suvarnabhumi International Airport, and I see it is 35 minutes from the police station. What's the best way to get there by? Taxi?
