Hi all, I'm looking for a little help from some fellow Canadians who are ahead of me in the process.

I'm waiting on my NOA2 which looks like it will be coming through in about a month hopefully, fingers crossed.

I will be going through the Montreal consulate and I'm trying to get prepared for everything so I'm ready to go.

I've been on the consulate site reading up on both the P3 and P4 and using the practice forms.

So what I`m confused about is which forms exactly I need to send in when I receive the P3 packet.

Obviously the checklist.

The DS160 looks like its an online form and you get a receipt for it.

The DS156K Ièm not sure about. There is a section on it that needs to be filled out at the consulate and it also calls for supporting documentation i.e birth certificate, divorce decrees, evidence of financial support etc.

So I'm sorta confused. I thought I only needed some of these things like the I-134 when I actually went to the consulate not before hand.

There are other forms as well like the DS230 and the DS156. They also ask for 2 pasport style photos and a photocopy of the biographical page from my passport.

So basically I'm confused on what exactly I have to send back in order to get to the P4 and the interview booking.

Anyone who has gone through this step and could possibly shed some light on this for me?

I'm sure everyone on here knows how trying to be super prepared and getting through all this can make you crazy!!!

Thanks in advance

I was confused about the one form in P3 needing the original birth certificate and police check, so I sent in EVERYTHING on the interview checklist as well as all of the forms listed on the website for P3 (after making copies). The only things I actually brought to my interview were my passport, medical exam, packet 4 letter and the e-mail print out saying my appointment time and reciept numbers, and an updated fiance letter of intent. They had everything I had mailed in in a folder at the interview, so it worked out. Hope that helped!

Total time between mailing of I-29F and recieving visa: 249 days (8 months, 4 days)

All I sent was the forms that they asked for and the check list. My packet was logged and waiting packet 4 was sent out Monday. Waiting to receive packet 4 in the mail. I would be afraid to send everything for fear that they might lose it. It says somewhere in the instructions to not send all, to bring it with you. Glad it worked out for you Anysunrise. Congrats on your approval!

Thanks! And yeah, I didn't read that until after, so I was freaking out for a month hoping my copies would be enough, but they ended up having it all. The forms are not very clear; how was I supposed to file this P3 form with the original birth certificate but have to bring it with me to the interview?!

Make sure to print a complete copy of the DS-160 as well as the confirmation page and bring it with you to the interview.
