Absolutely it's possible. Many, many people are denied all the time. While more applicants are approved than not, the % of people denied is NOT negligible.

If there were no denials at the consulate, there wouldn't be any need for an interview. The petition approval by USCIS just means that you have met the requirements to apply for the visa. The interview at the consulate looks at the bonafides of the marriage and makes a determination of financial capability--neither of which is determined by the original petition.

the petition would have to pass through the NVC, and the NVC time depends on which kind of petition you are filing. Then the case would be forwarded to the embassy, and then it is the embassy that would set an interview date.

We are IR5 (parents of USC) and our case was approved on the 9th August at the NVC and has now left for London (we think) as Icey said it depends on which Visa but good luck for the rest of the journey

I think its up to embassy. Gather some information about embassy and find members who experienced this in your corner. So you can be more assured. Knowing some standart questions, you can already practicize your answers.

I have heard good references about Warsaw embassy.

Most they look at is papers anyway, so if financess will be in order and your police certificate will be "white", all should go well. All they want to check are you able to intrance in usa with this kind of visa and function there oneday. If you are not crazy narcoman or terrorist, and they will see your relation is ongoing and intentions are honest, noone should be denyed. I never heard that it happened in warsaw.

Daisy, you already know from your numerous posts over the past several months that you are in a position for your visa to be denied based on your illegal presence in the US. This is why so many members provided you with information regarding how to prepare a 601 waiver and hardship letter prior to your interview. Since the hardship letter needs to be written by your USC fiance and a great deal of documentation is required, he should have this prepared now for your interview.
