Questions on how to fill out the G-325A form

Hi everyone. I am having some trouble and questions trying to figure out how to correctly fill in the G-325A forms. Basically, it's as follows:

1. On the part where it says "Applicant's Residence For Five Years," should I just list five years of residence? I know this sounds kind of like a nonsense question, but I notice in the G-325A example form, it lists from quite far back to 1975 even.

2. I notice in the MONTH field, I can only input one variable text, like I think it was meant as a numeric value instead of a letter value. I tried typing in something like months like June or July, but it only shows ONE letter. So I guess I can instead just put something like "6" or "7." Did anyone else have this problem?

3. Also, last where it says "Show below last occupation abroad if nost listed above." If I have never had a job abroad, should I just put None? I was thinking if I answered the first part (List all employers), then I can leave this one blank like the example form, but I don't really know. Hmm.. I guess it wouldn't hurt to just put None.

Thanks!

1) List the residential addresses that cover the 5 year period.

2) It should take the month in text, so not sure what is happening there with yours.

3) 'None'

Five years back, that's it.

Use numerical entries.

I don't know why but mine just takes in numerical entries. I looked at the example forms and wondered how they made it a letter text entry... Maybe its somewhere in the settings? Oh well, thank you both!

Hi

1. you have to list each residence you lived at for the past 5 years, if the last residence you lived at was within the past 5 years, but you began living there in 1973, then you would have to list it.

2. I think the date format on the G325 is like this dd/mm/yyyy, for example 29-August-2006

3. I would put N/A since this question is Not applicable to you.

Hope this helps

I used numerical entries and got approved. These are minor issues really. In fact, the USG likes numerical dating. Example for today, 29 August 2006, or 29/08/2006. It's all good. Go forth and conquer!!!

Oh and to validate this statement, I worked for the USG for 20 years. Overseas, no less.

Ah, I just meant for that section in the G-325A. In one of the field boxes, it asks for Month. And in another field box, it asks for Year. So I guess I am just gonna do something like "3" in the first box, and "2006," etc in the second. I was just wondering how the G-325A example form had non-numerical entries like "June/July/May/etc." But, oh well.

Again, just put numerical entries. In reviewing my photocopies, I see, for example, 3/2004. Go with that format.

I was giving too much info as usual.

A similar question to Kabigon's #3 question...

Show below last occupation abroad if not shown above. (Include all information requested above.)

Does this include those overseas occupations that may have been greater than 5 years ago (ANYTIME) that were in any other country? Or would this only apply in the past 5 years? In other words, is there any specific timeframe for this particular question?

Thank you!!

It only took numerical entries for us too so that is what was submitted and all went well. Don't worry.

Good luck!

My instinct would be to say yes, just list it even if it is out of the 5-year time frame. Why you ask? Because when they ask for police clearances (if you are the beneficiary) you have to do it from every place you have lived since you were 16 so they will know anyway. This is simply one woman's opinion though. Any other takes on this?

kabigon,

1. List at least 5 years. Start by listing your most recent residence. If you started living there within the last five years then next list your previous residence, and so on going back in time. At some point you'll have a residence for which the end date is within the last 5 years but the start date will be sometime earlier - show the true start date for that place of residence. In this way you will be showing at least 5 years, as asked for, and perhaps considerably more.

2. From where are you obtaining the G-325A? The verson on the USCIS web site, like the VJ example, allows for at least 3 characters.

3. 'None' is good. I prefer 'Never worked abroad'.

justjoeny,

Why wouldn't it include overseas occupations that may have been greater than 5 years ago? Does it say to exclude them, or to confine yourself to only the last 5 yers?

A good rule of thumb is to answer a question as asked. Do not add words that are not in the question, do not omit words that are in the question.
