affidavit of support I-134 Form Advice please!!

Timeline

Hi to all of you,

I was leaving aboard for more than 5 years, Tha´s how I meet my Fiance, I came back to the US about year and a half, this year I made arround 19000, and last year only about 6000. so, my cuestion is:

Do I need to have somebody as a co-sponsor when filling de I-134? I don´t have much money saved!!!

I believe you will need a co-sponsor, just because your 2010 income was lower than the 'poverty guidelines'

12/12/11.... call in to USCIS. Told to call back after 12/26.
12/23/11.... I-765 approved

02/1/12...... Interview
02/02/12.... Approved!
02/10/12.... Hubby's GC in hand!

 

ROC Journey

12/09/13.... sent I-751 to CSC

12/10/13.... package delivered / NOA1

12/12/13.... cheque cashed

01/06/14.... biometrics

04/18/14.... approval letter dated (received 4/22)

 

Naturalization Journey

09/29/22.... filed N-400 online

09/30/22... NOA/biometrics reuse

01/23/23... interview scheduled for 02/28 

02/28/23... successful interview + oath ceremony in Santa Ana, CA! so proud! certificate of naturalization received! --> Read the review here!

My reading is that the 2010 income was 19k. It was the 2009 income that was below the poverty guidelines. If this is correct, then she/he qualifies as long as she still has the job and the current earnings are sufficient. The I-134 only asks about current income, not past income but it's a best practice to include at least one tax return. I would include the 2010 return showing the 19k income.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
