Hello,

I submitted my I-129f in October, 2010. A couple weeks later I received the I-797C NOA in the mail. I live in Round Rock, TX and the information was sent to the Vermont center. My wonderful fiancé is Chinese. When I go to the egov.uscis.gov site it says "Initial Review" and has said this since October 19th, 2010. The Vermont center says processing time will be 5 months. My 5 months will be up March 19th, 2011. How accurate do you think this will be?

Also, I've noticed some people say "paperwork has been touched". Where are you getting this information? Mine hasn't changed since inception. Is there anywhere else I should be checking with?

Thank You,

M&L

:)

I would plan on not hearing anything until the 5-6 month mark.

The "touch" refers to the "last updated" date that shows on the USCIS website that you are already checking. Some people never get touched from their NOA1 to NOA2. I wouldn't worry about it. :)

You go on the USCIS website. You make an ACCOUNT. You log on your account and put in your case number to the portfolio. You can then see touches.

They mean nothing and aren't important. The UPDATES are what are important. You can sign up for text or email notification in your account.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

A number of people have been complaining that theirs took more than 5 months and some are just about their 5 month mark and no NOA2. The 5 month mark could be exceeded or not, if you are lucky. But, based on recent trends, I'd say give them up to 6 months but start bugging them at the 5 month mark.

It will generally be pretty accurate, plus maybe 5 more months or so. They will let you know when they approve your petition. Until then, you wait.

:wow:

what I want to know is how Inky got his 129f petition approved in 5 days  got all the right connections?

As for the topic at hand, k1 petitions have been taking much longer these days since July. I was fortunate to be part of the early 2010 group and get mine approved in 2 months. Hang in there guys, not much to do but wait it out with your fiance(e)s

I honestly have NO idea how it happened neither does my husband. The only things we could come up with was that he was US military active duty, I checked my forms like a crazy woman and we font-loaded even tho i'm from Canada.

Could be, well it's amazing anyway, must be a record time hehe well I always think USCIS just has a big ol pile sitting there and they randomly pluck out files to work on regardless of what order.
