Hey everyone,

I have a question, maybe its a non issue. But I talked to a travel agent, about booking a one way ticket for my fiance to the U.S., and she will hopefully coming on the fiance visa. Is there any problems with that? I'm not sure why, but the travel agent, asked to check with a lawyer, so they don't give her problems when she arrives. Do I need to book her a round trip ticket, or can I just book her a one way ticket to the U.S.? I'm not sure if this travel agent is trying to pressure me into buying a round trip, or has a legitimate concern. Anyways, I don't have a lawyer, this awesome website and forums etc., is working as my lawyer :)

Thanks

This is a frequently asked question.

Book whichever costs less.

If you do book a RT ticket, make sure you let airline know to cancel the return trip ticket after traveling to the USA.

In our case it was a one-way ticket.

Thanks for the quick responses!

No I haven't been approved, I'm just shopping around in advanced, for early summer, trying to plan in advanced is all.

So, I could purchase a one way ticket. Great!

I am going to do whatever is cheaper. The round trip might be better, my only concern is that a lot of times, there is a penalty for not using the return ticket at the designated time, or if you change the date, so there is no certainty on when she might go back. I'm thinking one way ticket might be cheaper in the long run, assuming there is penalties for breaking a round trip ticket.

As long as there is no problem if she is approved, for her to fly on a one way ticket, that answers my question. Now I gotta find which would be cheaper to do.
