Petition - not visa application - not yet. Frankly, they probably get tired of hearing from us so often. But, we are all so excited and anxious to get our processes completed and it is hard to sit without hearing anything - so we nag the USCIS and the NVC by calling for an update. Anyone who has ever called has come to realize that your call does nothing for your case because the people who take the calls are not the individuals handling the cases. The only time I can think of making a call helped was when there was an RFE coming your way and you got a heads up before the notice came which allowed you time to begin gathering the missing information if it was possible. Patience is the name of this journey.

Staying strong and patient in love and faith!

hi guys.. do you think VSC/USCIS gonna process visa application even if you don't follow up your case? do you think they gonna send NOA2 even if you dont call the or email them.. ?

Call, email, get your elected officials to contact them. They are a government agency and government agencies are 'supposed' to serve the people of that country. So it's your right to complain, yell, scream etc (of course be nice :P) if they are beyond the promised 5 months timeframe.

If you have a cell plan with unlimited call minutes, call them every day and demand to speak to an immigration officer.

PS: If you call and they give you the "We are working on July 10 petitions" call them out on it and flat out tell them to stop lying to you and speak to a supervisor. If the supervisor does the same, tell them to quit lying as well.

when you call em you dont get to talk to actual people who are going through cases, those are operators, and if you pay attention people complain that they all say the same thing because they dont even bother to dig in a little further,so you calling or not calling doesnt make a difference in your process,As long as youre within the time frame.im not saying you shouldnt call em,call em for your peace of mind, but dont expect miracles.

In direct answer to your question, the answer is yes. At some point in time they will either send you an approval, an RFE or a denial. Your petition application does not just go into a black hole never to be heard from again unless you call.

As others have said, the waiting for an update is what annoys most. Especially, since it has been said that it only takes an Immigration Officer about 15 minutes to review and approve a petition that is in order. If you are anxious, do call and email and do everything else that others are doing. At the very least, it will occupy your time; at most, it will get someone to look for the file to see if there is a problem. And who knows, the amount of time it takes to review for problems might be enough time to determine that the petition should be approved.
