I could not see my then fiance, now husband, for six month due to refuse entry by CBP. It was tough but hang in there. My husband always told me that it seemed long but it worth it when you look back a year from now.

Good luck!

What happend at the CBP if I might ask?

K1:

09/17/10 - I-129F filed

09/20/10 - Package arrived in Dallas,TX

I think the biggest gap is going to be the one right now due to the active k1.

Otherwise it was (not counting the time before meeting - we met online)

1 week together, 4 months apart,

3 weeks together, 3 months apart,

1 month together in October and probably until getting further information regarding the NOA2.

We do however squeeze all the time out of every hour and try to spend as much time in each others company like we would've done if living together. Hard with a time difference of 7 hours but the key word is probably that's it's not too difficult. But frustrating.. Indeed.

Congrats to the ones with upcoming interviews : ) And best of luck to everyone trying their best to make it possible and hanging in there. It's one big boat for sure!

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

20 Months. I was last with her in mid May 2009. I will be there again in March this year. But since I saw her last I finally got my divorce and also a kidney transplant so those two things really prevented me from going bacl at least some time during last year. Thank God for Webcam, e-mail and phone calls. Of course, we are a little older two and sort of my second time going thru this process cuz my ex-wife is also Filipina but I married her in the Phils and then petitioned for her as my wife on relative VISA. Still very, very hard to be apart.

We only text each other in the mornings and evenings (other times, either I am asleep or he is..)

Occasionally, we call each other..

does this mean I don't have strong feelings for him? I LOVE him a LOT, it's just I don't know what to talk about with him on a daily basis (through skype, for instance - although, he doesn't have internet at home, so he would have to go to the nearest internet club)? We know what each of us doing by means of text messaging.

I'm in a similar situation. My fiancee doesn't have internet so she has to go to the net cafe for us to Skype, and this can be very inconvenient with our schedules. I do text her everyday though, and we talk about four times a week. It would be so nice if she had internet, but I just think, a few decades ago there would have been no way for me to communicate with her in Kyrgyzstan at all. I miss her all the time though.

After we met, I think the longest time apart was 7 months or so. Maybe a little less. Recently, we've been seeing each other every three months when we can.

inshAllah both of our flights land safely and we will be able to see each other on Monday after 2 months apart

i know compared to some people two months is nothing but its the longest we have ever spent apart

we both live in Cairo, Egypt which makes things easier but because we are applying for the K1 visa, he wanted to go home because Comoros is far and tickets from America are ridiculous, so he realized he wouldnt be able to go home for a while, hence the two month trip home.

i cant wait to see him and i hope everyone else is with their loved ones soon

I hope so! We're planning our wedding for August 14th, but I'm at CSC and it depends on your local embassy. I know the Lima embassy tends to be pretty quick with an interview in about a month, but at others you might have to wait 2-4 months for an interview! Look into how your embassy is.

9/24- I-129F received by CSC

9/27 NOA1 received in mail

9/28- Check Cashed

10/1- touched

2/23- RFE email

2/28- RFE hardcopy

3/7- NOA2!!!!!

3/28- Interview! APPROVED!

4/7 - Jimmy arrives in the USA!

I miss him too.. Although I just came from Kyrgyzstan (we had a wedding ceremony, but we are not legally married yet), I can't wait to see him again! I can't wait for the day when I see him at the airport *DREAMINGLY*. Every morning when I wake up, I tell myself "I am one day closer to seeing my love!" I am so hoping he would be here by April (keeping my fingers crossed).

Hang in there, guys. I heard that this process used to take at least a year. And some couples right now don't even get approved by the end of their K-1 visa journey because the person at the embassy did not believe the relationship was genuine (how absurd!). We have to believe that our case will go smoothly, and at the end, we will be with our loved ones for the rest of our lives. That's all that should matter now.

I know it's hard to wait this long.. but we have to be strong! I am happy to learn that we are not alone. We are all going through the same stages, and we'll get through this. A year from now, we will be talking about our marriage lives, and how wonderful it is! =)

I wish you all the best of luck and fast approval!

Hey everyone,

I just said goodbye to the one I love after a amazing 3 weeks together. The plan is that I wont see her for nearly 6 months. We both are finishing school and she has a lot of wedding planning to do. We're currently in the K1 proces (September 2010 filers) aiming that our wedding will be on Augst 6. 2011 and me leaving to be with her in July.

Now Im really down with that time that we have to be apart. This is the longest we havent seen eachother, herefor almost 4 months. Now my question is to see how long other people havent seen there beloved ones, hopefully it will make me feel better.

Thank you :)

our second anniversary is in 17 days and we have only seen eachother ironically for 17 days.we are going on 8 months without being together at the moment.

Interestingly enough, my mom went through this process in the 80's and it took her 2 years back then, even though she already had children with my dad. She's another good source of moral support for this journey. Thanks for the positivity, it is important to realize how temporary this situation is and that one day we will all be looking back with our loved ones and remembering how much we went through to be together. Good luck to all!

What happend at the CBP if I might ask?

I could not show ties to Canada so they sent me back and barred me for six months. It happened in Oct 2009. Then my fiance visited me in Dec and we decided to file I-129. Back then I did not have a job until April 2010 so I could not show tie still. I had to wait till I had few pay stubs to show CBP.

Our AOS Journey started:

Being about to send emails to each other's cell phones has been very nice. Sometimes we'll do that throughout the day, even short messages to let the other person know we're thinking of them. International text is expensive but the emails are free. We Skype on the weekends and sometimes we'll do other things while we're on it such as making dinner or doing chores. During the World Series we watched the games together through Skype. If I'm traveling to visit family and we can't Skype then we'll plan phone calls while I drive. During the week we will chat during the day sometimes and use Facebook a lot. Some of the time is spent working on wedding plans. We want to have a church wedding and that can't be planned easily within a month or two. Every vendor I'm talking to knows about the situation and that the date might change but we can still plan a nice wedding and reception. We look forward to the weekends when we know we'll be able to talk more on Skype and if one of us gets upset over something we try to talk it out.
