Hello,

I'm new to this forum, and have a quick question. It's probably a no-brainer, but here it goes. I have all my K1 visa information ready, and I'm just waiting for a signed document from my fiance in Asia. She already supplied the passport style photo a few weeks ago, but I just noticed that it was semi gloss and not glossy a couple nights ago. I know it says glossy in the instructions, and it just dawned on me... Does anyone think immigration will be that critical? I've supplied many other photos, (probably overkill) so it's obvious it's her. Just curious if anyone has any input. I just notified her of this issue, but it takes so long for things to come in the mail, and we're so close now:( I might submit it as is and hope we don't get an RFE, because I know it depends on the reviewer.

Thank you.

USCIS tends to not be critical about passport photo.

In our case my wife's photo was 1.5" x 2" and was not an issue.

Get correct photos later for the visa interview, the consulate can be more fussy.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Thank you for the reply. It's good to hear from someone who has gone through the process. I hope that works out to be true. I'll surely have my fiance get the glossy photo for any future requirements.

I would suggest that you get her passport photo as a digital photo so you can go to CVS or Wal-Mart and develop extra photo printouts for use. A standard 4x6 photo can be cut into 6 standard passport style photo. That's how I did it. I first created a 864x864 pixel square photo and then use the grid to duplicate 6 times to make it 2592x1728 pixels, the standard size for 4x6 prints.

About the G-325A and a statement of intention to marry would it be a problem that you just sign her name and submit it, or do you have to insist on waiting for her to mail her own actually signed document in? I think it is OK. She expressed her intention already and she authorized you to sign her name for her to speed the process. And she can sign another one when going to the visa interview.

Do you think the USCIS will pick on such technicality and insist on having her real, wet physical signature on the G-325A and on the statement of intention to marry. Or is it not a big deal? Who would be filing a petition if there is no intention to marry in the first place? I guess genuine relationship is more important to USCIS.
