How long does it take to be able to use USCIS site for tracking application?

I remember it being easy to track our past receipt numbers (for our other immigration processes) on the USCIS site. I haven't been able to get any sort of information on our I-751 form. It just says the record doesn't exist. Is this normal? If so, does it get into the online system after our bio appointment? We received our bio letter last week.

I thought I ask here first before I spent a long time (like I always had to before) on the phone waiting for an USCIS agent.

Thanks to any/all who reply to this! I appreciate the help.

That's the confirmation number I have been trying to use for the USCIS site.

I even called the automated line & it says it doesn't exist. o.O

I guess it's time to call the dudes.

That's been the number I'm trying to track with. It's time to call them.

Was snooping around Google for similar issues & found this old VJ entry: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/171978-checking-case-status-online/

With USCIS being unhelpful at the moment (with their dragged out automated line), we'll check online again after his bio appointment (jan 21st). Hopefully the WAC# finally becomes valid after that. It'd be nice to able to track it, so we know when to expect things in the mail.

Thanks again for the help! :)

That happened to us with our AOS. Our I485 never showed up in the system until after it was approved. The online system sucks. We were able to see our I130 and I765 though.

That sucks that one can't depend on the online system. You think USCIS would have something like that running smoothly.

It varies. Our biometrics letter was dated December 10 and our case status did not show up online until sometime between December 28 and January 4. Some people can see their right away, others may not show up at all.

I think they have made it easier! You simply input the number on your ASC letter...I was able to do it as soon as I received mine, but I remember it was the same when we were doing the AOS - some people could track and some couldn't. Hope you get it sorted!

I had the same issue after receiving my bio better in December. They only added my case on Jan 10 (yesterday). I tried today and that was the date of the last update, so I assume that's when they added it.

I had no problem seeing my I-485 case back on AOS, but I guess this time it took a little longer. Nothing to worry about really... My I-130 still shows under "Initial Review" :bonk:

Thanks for the replies! :) - I always found it easy to track our other cases in the past (haven't needed to track anything for almost 2 years though), so this new system made me assume it's not so easy anymore! Relieved to see that are definitely others having the same problem. My initial thought was that they gave me the wrong number.
