People, lets not separate our thread to VSC or CSC ever. ok? Ok! LOL

I do not mind if there is a question about what other people are seeing, as someone has a concern for their paperwork and wishes to understand if something is going on with them. And since there are distinct differences between how the 2 centers are processing them, like the computer system I can understand this. What I do not wish to see is people start communicating things comparing the processing centers in such a way that if causes strife within this group. I have seen that in other forums and I do not like it. I have not seen it here and it is very refreshing to have positive people, and that is what I strive for in life, surrounding myself with positive people. I hope everyone can stay positive and offer support to anyone that is having difficulty through this process, as the journey has just begun for all of us.

Of course I or anybody can't prevent it, but still.. wishful thinking so we can all stay friends and give each other a positive helping hand... or anything we want to share. I think we've all proven to be capable of being supportive and positive, and if not, helping each other to become so... I truly dont think we will ever have a problem and that is why I posted my lil ... post. :star: To be honest here: I, as a January filer, saw the way VSC was already processing slow, so my expectations of it being any faster weren't high. I started the process that way and if it goes any faster then that would be a plus, but not something I expect at the moment or would fret out with you sweet guys for any reason.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their stories. I am truly inpired by the long distance relationships and as of now, I'm in one too. Matt and I met on eharmony while both living in the same city. He was here for 2.5 years on a work visa and just moved back to the US today. We've been inseperable since our first date on March 14th. For our last dinner together (last night) we went back to the same place and it was quite busy. After waiting a while we were seated at exactly the same table as our first date (it's a big place). It made us smile and we had a great night. I had no idea how hard saying good bye would be but everything will be ok and the waiting will be worth it. I'm glad all of us are one day closer to being reunited!!

We met on Eharmony too!! Did you email them and tell them your engaged? We did and we got to pick 2 free gifts! But watch out when they ship it. Have them ship it to the States as we got dinged for Duty and Taxes. Or i should say I did!

I agree wholeheartedly.

Really, at the most, the only 'separation' is different tabs on the group timeline page, and I only did that so it was easier to see trends with the different service centers (like how long each one is taking to get to NOA1s, etc.). VSC or CSC, we're all in the same boat and we're all in for quite a wait, regardless. Of course, we can't stop someone from making a separate thread, but it wouldn't take long for someone to notice that this is where all the 'action' is.

Does anyone know if you can check your NOA1 date online (and, if so, where to find it)?

If you got your e-mail confirmation of case acceptance, there should be a case number in the e-mail.

Go to this site.

Enter your case number and search. (If your case isn't there yet, wait. Just hopefully not three weeks like me.)

The date it says they received it should be the same as your NOA1 date.

Also, you should consider signing up for an account on the site, and adding your case number to it.

This will allow you to sign up for e-mail/text alerts and to see the mystical 'touches' to your case.

Hm - that's what I thought, but the dates don't actually match up for me: the hard-copy "notice date" is 01/14/2011, while the online date of receipt is 01/12/2011. Odd.

Thanks for the info though!

Awesome  Just curious, have you been able to access your case status online yet?

Nope, my little one called them yesterday to be told that we wouldn't be able to check the status until after the February 20 (!), but that this doesn't effect the processing time.

Paul

I'd go with what it says in the NOA1 hardcopy.

Sometimes it does vary a little bit, from what I've seen.

Besides, a day or two isn't going to make much difference timeline-wise.

Woah! Well alright then, did they give a reason for this? I'll keep checking every other day I guess, but if it's still not accessible after February 20th, I will have my hubby to be call them up. Thanks for the info!

I'm guessing you'll be able to see it in a few days.

Sometimes you have to learn to speak USCIS.

If your NOA1 date is January 20th, and they say you won't be able to check status until February 20th, it means: Wait a month before calling us back. (And my translation is: It'll probably be fixed in the next 30 days, so ####### off for a while and leave us alone)

Ok that worries me a bit now as you only sent out your petition a day before us...hmm, but your NOA1 date is 4 days earlier. Have you been able to check it right away after you got your e-notification? I think everyone who got it after the 18th routed to VSC has not been able to access online case status..
