In Valdez at man camp (where the workers lived) there was a trailer court not more than a mile down the road. It was McDonalds for their kids, and a case of Bud for her...always bring an extra pack of smokes. Cheap and easy. :)

Exactly how it works!

I'll keep that in mind. :P

My buddy and I used to "ride the train" through the trailer park so that's always an option too. Just make sure you bring the extra smokes!

Ok, gotta ask. Ride the train?

Imagine going to Ukraine where the cigs are 80 cents per pack and...oh, NM

LOL Gary like you didn't know. I know after reading this board that you spent a significant amount of time in Ukraine, and if Ukraine is anything like Russia or Belarus...a pack of smokes, a bottle of wine, and a stop at the local grocery store gets you a super model for the evening. B-)

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Yeah, and the cigarettes are cheap, but what is the bit about "riding the train"?

I think it's an Ohio thing...but I have a few idea's of what he's talking about. When I was out of work through the hall..work was like really dead, we used to slum it up at the local bar (country western ftw) and on the first of the month all the welfare trailer babes would come out to play. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. NVM that they all seemed to have like anywhere from 3 - 6 kids and most of them with different dads.

I have to admit an ignorance to the whole "trailer park/welfare babe" thing. Actually it sounds as if it could be fun.

If you ever do go trailer park slumming...remember to never call the kids by their first name. It sends the wrong message and looks like your getting attached. That and make sure you lock your doors when you make those "night visits" so her kids don't steal everything in your truck including the change under the seat.

OK, but I don't think I'll be going there. Seems like it is something someone would do BEFORE going to Ukraine for the first time.

Ride the train?

That's when two (or more) people jump on the same "caboose."

It's as fun as spending time in FSU - just with a Jerry Springer remix. Instead of super models it's bare feet, ratty hair and missing teeth. And that's just the kids!

Man, it's like we were at the very same trailer park!

After you've spent time in the FSU nothing is ever the same. But, the trailer park is avaible year-round, 24/7. FSU is not.

Personally, being from the south side of Chicago, we'd get some brews, ride around in the three speed Mustang, go to the summer carnivals where one would also find these trailer girls and ride out to the forest preserves but with Steppenwolf or Uriah Heep blasting out of the 8-track.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
