Happy Friday MENA Vjer's,

YEAH it's the weekend. Can't believe all the snow we keep getting here in minnesota. Enough is enough! Been talking with my honey about all the rioting happening in Tunisia. Sounds like the president has fled the country but yet there not there is alot of looting happening with out any law enforcement of military presence. I hope things turn around there soon. We're a little worried about the rest of his family back in Tunisia. :o

Happy weekend. I hope things calm down in Tunisia.

Congrats to Wael in passing the citizenship test. Glad it went well! I love to come to the MENA forum and see good news. :)

Sunny--I know what you mean. My commute home on Friday took more than 2 hours (it's normally about 45 mins-1 hour). Minnesota keeps getting just enough snow to be inconvenient.

Happy Sunday! Jeanne congrats on the citizenship test. How exciting!!

We've had a pretty busy, but nice weekend. Yesterday we were at the school for a new student orientation for my husband. He starts this week and I think they did a very nice job in welcoming everyone and answering questions, etc. The unknown is a little unnerving so I am excited for him to get started. I know he'll be great. He's already started studying from his books!!

Today we went up to Cave Creek which is a very small little town just north of Phoenix. It's very touristy but we had fun with the old wagons, cacti, and just generally being around nice people. He said it reminded him a lot of Morocco and so I'm sure we'll head back over there again soon.

Now he's napping but if I do I'll never sleep tonight so I'm off to work on setting up my university class that I will be teaching starting Tuesday. Where has the time gone? At least I have one more day off!

Have a great evening everyone. :)

Good morning MENA. I hope that you all had a good weekend.

I haven't had a lot of time for posting lately, as the last month has been dedicated to the events in Tunisia, support for the protesters and the families of those who have lost loved ones. I started a thread this morning, as it seems the US Embassy in Tunisia is evacuating and will either close or be operating in a very minimal fashion. It's so odd for them to do this now, so long after the height of the violence.. I wonder if they know something the rest of us don't know.

By a true miracle and blessing of God, our family and all of our friends survived with no injuries or property damage during the revolution. Hamdouallah ya rabbi. But many Tunisians were not as lucky and the total number of dead nears 200.

But Tunisia did what no other Arab country has ever been able to do, they ousted a brutal dictator and his evil regime and will bring freedom and democracy to their country.

TAHEYA TOUNES! Long live Tunisia :)

Morning everyone and happy Monday! Beautiful day here! We are to reach 77 today. Temps are slowly

getting warmer. I really don't want to be in the 100+ again soon. Would love to stay like this for at least

a couple months.

Wael doesn't have classes today so it's a "let's do some shopping" day.

Thank you all for your congratulations to Wael! We now wait for a date and time for his oath....

then it's finally over! Sometimes it seems like we just went for our first interview....then sometimes

it seems like it's been years with this process!

Terrie, have you any more news of when your husband will return? Sure hope everything is going

well with him.

Vanessa, best of luck to your husband! What will he study and what University do you teach at?

Andrea, hope your legs will feel better. Just take care of yourself!

Have a great day everyone! Take care and be careful!

I am really sorry to hear that. I hope that he's healing and better soon. incha allah labes.

I would not worry about his B3. It should stay clean and even if it doesn't, you can make it clean again without much problem ;)
