what embassy if you live in US and husband in Egypt sends out the visa packet once they approve your I-130 application? Is it the US embassy in Cairo that sends it to him or does it come from in the US? Reason for asking is mail is horrible in Egypt from US, he never gets my mail.

I followed the short cuts for NVC here and never received anything from either the consulate or NVC. Don't wait for anything to to be mailed to you, you'll waste time

Good luck

Embassy or consulate located in foreign country that sends out interview packet.

Note: When I-130 is approved, it goes on to NVC in the USA where they will request from petitioner an I-864 and from beneficiary a DS-3032 to allow petitioner to handle and send required documents to NVC in USA for processing. MORE: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/nvc/nvc_1335.html

Hi Ruby~

It sounds like you are waiting for the I-130 NOA2. If that is so then you are going for the CR1 visa (spousal visa). Once you get the NOA2, your "packet" with application will go to the NVC. You can follow the NVC guidelines and get majoritiy of your paperwork and your SO papers together to mail them in when they ask for them.

I know what you mean about the mail being horrible there. My husband would get my mail but ended up paying way too much for the little stuff I sent to him.

There are some great information you can find here about the NVC and getting ready for the next step in your journey. Just google James' shortcuts or Lingche's shortcuts.

Good luck with your journey!
