So I sent my package on 12/22 and this is what I got from USPS tracking site:

Detailed Results:

Notice Left, December 28, 2010, 9:32 am, DALLAS, TX 75266

Arrival at Unit, December 28, 2010, 7:15 am, DALLAS, TX 75260

Acceptance, December 22, 2010, 12:19 pm, ATLANTA, GA 30339

I wonder why no one was there to accept the package??? Thought the holiday season has passed so there should be people at the USCIS location at all times.

I had the same thing when I mailed my petition in Sept by certified return receipt mail. If you think about it, someone from the USCIS service center has to sign for certified mail at the post office, just like you would have to if you received a certified letter. The notice is left in the PO Box and someone from USCIS has to sign for the package when they pick the mail up from the post office. I would give it a few days, even until early next week because I'm sure they have only a few people working due to the holidays. A lot of people take off until after New Years' Day.

Its not strange its really normal, USCIS pick the mail up from the location and if there is no room for USPS to put more mail they leave a notice that there is more to be picked up at the post office. Pretty normal and simple.

Future filers, be sure to attach the e-notification form to the front of your packet for easy tracking of status in addition to a tracking number from your carrier.
