You can call the Department of State at 202 663-1225. Do not use the automated system as it will not have information on K-1 visas. Ask the visa specialist for the case number and the date that it was received at NVC as well as the date the at it left NVC. If still feeling courageous, ask them whether it has been received at the embassy and then if the package has been sent to the beneficiary yet.

Goog luck.

My pleasure. Someone else here gave me the info an it sure helped me from going insane. You can also ask for your interview date after you have sent in your package 3. For me this info was worth $200 as that is what I paid for my flight having advance notice. It also makes it easier to schedule the medical and maybe get a better hotel for a good price.

Now that you have that number wait until after the holidays, you can contact the consulate directly and see if they have received the peitition. If they have you can send in Packet 3 available off the website. I would recommend this as many people never actually receive Packet 3 in the mail.

Thank you very much......this is where i could use all the help we can get. Ihe Fiance had to move this week

so thats anoth step we need to do. Do you know if we just email the consulate direct or can she call and give them

her need address? She is planing on going to BKK the 5th or 6th for her medical and police report. And that was our

plan to just send in packet 3 right away and hope for a Feb. interview. Seems different stoy's on what should be sent with

packet 3 so trying to sort that part out yet. Would kind make up for the holiday's if she could be here for Valentines day :)

Packet 3 on the website will tell you exactly what needs to be submitted then and what needs to be brought to the interview. Be careful about sending originals, only send those if they ask for it. You can just email the address change to them, but they don't really need it for anything except to send Packet 3.

I was worried to as she had moved right before Packet 3 too, but it doesn't matter, you don't need anything to be sent to the address. Packet 4 is just an appointment date/time.

Good Luck!

If it's difficult to get through to your consulate, you can get the date received by the embassy from DOS. If your consulate allows you to email the initial forms for the Packet 3, download them from the embassy website and send them in as soon as DOS tells you that the embassy has received your petition from NVC.

The petition packet is usually received within 3 days from the date that NVC sends it out. Sometimes it takes the embassy a few more days to enter it into their system. When they enter it into their system, DOS will have that information.

I have gone to the Bangkok Embassy website and from what I can see the packet 3 info is not available unless you register and pay a fee to access it online as of June 2010. So at this point I am not real sure what will be required for Packet 3 and I really don't want to wait on the Embassy to send it out. Any help in this area would be of great help....Thank You Again

You might want to try again. I was able to access both the Packet 3 and Packet 4 files on the embassy website.
