My girlfriend is from the philippines. She has a daughter, age 7. After abuse and unfaithfulness she left her husband and has been separated for 6 years. We met through a friend and now I want her here with me in the U.S. She is still married as divorce does not exist in the Philippines. What is the quickest way to get her here? I know that the word quick is probably not even applicable in this situation, but I can only hope and pray that there is help out there.

To do anything she must be free to marry. There is a process and I am sure someone from that area will fill you in on what must happen. It will take both time and money to complete that process. You can look under the guides in the mean time and study K1 and CR1 visas ( k3 is no longer viable ) One is for married couples ( cr1 ) and the other for unmarried. Decide which will be best once she is free to marry.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I can tell you its not going to be easy and the and NigeriaorBust is right, it will be costly and take long. I have not had to do that but as my ex is a filipina that I married in the Phils and my fiancee now is Filipina, I have heard many stories of the struggles of both men and women in the Phils trying to anull thier marriages. It can be done in some cases but it is really, really hard. You can go internet about Divorce in the Philippines and research all the laws and rules and procedures and requirements, etc.

Good Luck!

The previous posts is true. First, both parties MUST be free to marry. Your fiancee in the Philippines must annul her marriage to her ex-husband officially. It is a struggle to annul a marriage in the Philippines because it is not very common there, however, there is a way! I've read many cases here in Visa Journey of which many were able to accomplish everything with what you are doing right now. It may not be quick as you would like it to be, but in the end, you'll be together. Good Luck and Happy New Year!
