What date to mention in I-130

Hi,

First of all I would like to thank everyone of you guys who are making this Forum totally helpful!

I just wanted to take your advice about which date to mention in the I-130 and in the interview about our marriage, as we had a private marriage contract in a date XX and another date YY for registration of the marriage in the court.

Personally I would note down the date that your official certificate for your registration states. The one that is recognised by your town/village/state.

You write down whichever was your legal wedding date. Sounds like the second date for you.

The issue is that both are mentioned in the registred contract by the court(On date XX they asked me to tie them as a husband and a wife and they offered a private contract dated YY ) , I'm just confused as we were not planning for traveling when we had our ceremony.. Is it about the registration date or about the ceremony date or what excatly?

Also during the interview, which one shall I mention??

I dont think the private contract would be recognised above the official registration - but I would mention both when questioned, provide evidence and you should be fine.

Unfortunately I can't even begin on this one. I don't know anything about contractual marriages and regular marriages....I thought my marriage meant I do what my wife says and I make her happy at all means, jajajaja

It's not a contractual marriage!! , It's just the name I think legal routine is different here in Egypt guys from yall, as it is a regular marriage and everything

When you are saying a private marriage contract, is that the one drawn up at the lawyer's office? If so, then it is not counted as a legal document in the eyes of the counsulate. They want the dated/fingerprinted 5 copies you had to sign contract that has to be translated into english then authenticated and notarized at the Cairo Consulate.
