I posted on NVC forum this week that our CR-1 application was sent back to CSC and they won't give us any details why (Approved NOA2 July 21).

After contacting the 800# yesterday and getting nowhere (they said call NVC, NVC said call CIS), I drafted a letter and sent if Fedex to CSC. Frankly, I DID NOT expect any response for weeks.

They signed for the letter this morning at 10 a.m. PST and it is now 3 pm PST and I just got an email that they have replied. THE SAME DAY!! Wow I knew I could write good letters, LOL, but I am in shock.

On August 25, 2006, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

I really cannot believe they responded this quickly.

I guess that I would not find that to be a "response" in my book... That sounds to me like a "give us 30 days to see what further explanation we can provide that excuses our further delay (which will undoubtedly extend much beyond the 30 days)".

This week has left many of us very unencouraged, if not totally drained of spirit and enthusiasm.

I called USCIS and then got the same status and email update. Maybe this is a new procedure to make us leave them alone for 30 days! lol instead of telling us to call back in 30 days. You are the 3rd post including mine today with this new status.

Me neither. Let's see what kind of response you'll actually get. Good luck!

Will we get a response? Do you know?

Hmmm, maybe I read into the word "responded" too deeply, and thought they responded to my questions as to why the called back our case.

ratz.

Oh well, at least I know they have the information that I tried all day to convey to them by phone...

If they say they responded that means a response letter is on it's way to you. Now it could simply be a letter saying they don't respond to letters (I recieved that from CSC once.)

They give the USPS 30 days to deliver the response letter to you before they want to have you call them back.

7-6-2005 Sent paperwork to CSC

7-13-2005 NOA-1

12-27-2005 Called about out of process

1-3-2006 Response sent

2-3-2006 Called because response never made it, started out of process again

4-5-2006 Called again because nothing has happened got the response "nothing has changed"

4-11-2006 Emailed CSC

4-12-2006 Emailed Congressman

4-13-2006 Got response from CSC stating that the file has been requested for processing (Hopefull yeah!)

6-30-2006 Exchange email with CSC--file is being processed contact again in 30 days

7-30-2006 CSC no longer accepts email

8-21-2006 NOA-2 Fantastic!

9-8-2006 NVC supposedly sends to Embassy

10-4-2006 Embassy doesn't have paperwork yet?

10-11-2006 Interview set for 10-25-2006

Dude, that's unbelievable! I'd get really mad if I've gotten a letter like that. So... they don't respond e-mail inquiries, letters and they don't take calls... nice, huh?

YEAH! What Mew said! how the hell are you supposed to do anything if you can't email them, the phone calls don't reach them, and they won't tell me sh*t about what's going on with our case? Am I supposed to send them psychic thoughts? This is really BAD!!

Anyway, I got the Overnight delivery address on the USCIS website

US Citizenship and Immigration Services

California Service Center

24000 Avila Road, 2nd Floor, Room 2312

Laguna Niguel, CA 92677

But from Ronin posted, it looks like letters are accepted by them. WHATEVER.
