Mari's letter from the Dept of Homeland Security:

OK I opened it and it read that they are confirming my new address change. A good thing so that our uscis mail doesn't go to the old house. And I wish they would get the NOA2's out as fast as they did the new address recognition. So basically, it said, "we fondled you, we have good memories of it.... and oh, btw, here is a consolation prize, "we have your new address change on all your records!"

Anticlimatic. Enuf said.

Maybe this was what your fondle was all about??? I was hoping for an early NOA2 surprise.. boo. It's ok, your time will come soon enough.

BTW on the topic of our fitness challenge, I did this bridal workout last night (1/2 hour then 10 minutes of abs) and it kicked my butt. I'm sore today and I hardly get sore from workouts, which means it worked different muscles than I normally do. Excellent!!

Here's the link... (there are other workouts on this site you might want to try out like the yoga and pilates stuff)

Bridal Body Burn

Bridal ABSession

At work (in our little Federal building) a lot of us are doing the President's Fitness Challenge to track our workouts and for a little friendly competition. The general public can register also, and you can form a group. So if anyone else wants to join in tracking your workouts I can start a K-1 Decemberites group so we can track them together. :)

Lise is right Christine, don't give up hope yet. Sometimes I check the next available interview date in Montreal and it's in 2 weeks, and other times I check and it's 4 months (I just checked again and currently the next available time is 2 days from today!). It's so all over the board, I wouldn't stress about it just yet....let's get those NOA2s from VSC first!

Yeah, I know you guys are right. Thank goodness I have all my decemberites to help keep me sane, I have a habit of letting my worries all pile up. I'll just stick to worrying about VSC right now, haha.

Mari, I was hoping for something a bit better for you! Its like they fondled you and then wouldn't stay the night! hahaha

As for the fitness challenge, I need to get on that! We have an elliptical so I will try and use that a bit more. I can only lose like 5-10 pounds because of how well my dress fit at my last fitting (I don't want to have to do alterations, haha) but I need to do that (and then maintain!)

Also why in the world does this ticker say 3 months 4 weeks? Isn't that 4 months! :P

Morning everyone!

My son and I did our first yoga last night and that thing stretched me like a gumby! I have a weak shoulder (old injury) and one of the reasons I wanted to do yoga was for flexibility overall, to tone, and to increase my range of motion in that shoulder. Well, let me tell you my shoulder did burn on the stretches but it was such a great feeling afterwards. This morning, I can already tell a significant difference, albeit a little sore... lol. I can't wait to go again! This week San Fran has got fabulous weather! OMG it's sunny bright spring here and the hills are a delightful. Now this outdoorsy girl will finally be able to hang out with the dogs on the trails or at one of my favourite spots that has a view of the Bay..... the dog beach! Yeah!!!! I guess winter rains are ok here. It can be romantic when cold ( :crying: K's not here!) Yet for me, it keeps me indoors more than out.

Re: fondling and the little "love letter' from uscis: I got the fondle before I changed my address on the website. That's how I discovered my addy was the old one; when I went to check to see if I got a fondling date because of Bec and Ben's morning posts. All in all, truly it still gives me anxiety gallore. Hence my other reason for yoga ( I am learning how to B-R-E-A-T-H-E). Haha... one of the instructors told me "Mari if you're getting married, you really will need yoga!" lol... If she only knew the real stressor is a thing called an NOA2!

I pretty much have high hopes for all of us. This Decemberite Family is INVINCIBLE, RECEPTIVE, KINDHEARTED,CONSCIOUS, DETERMINED, ALTRUISTIC, and SPUNKY!

And this is why I love you all! :jest:

Geeze, I hope this doesn't mean you're through with us! Look on the Thread Map and find the NOA2 document requirements for beneficiary (you). Also Bec recommends you look at your Embassy in case they want 'other documents' from their nationals. For the PI, you have to go to that class thing... the instructions link and map are on a post in this thread: Here you go, found it!

hmmm.... I don't know. I had an earlier post of the requirements, but I think it's better if you call them and ask. Couldn't hurt. Here's the info again.

1043 Aurora Blvd. Katipunan, Quezon City

(632) 9136439 or 9111814

call them for more info...

Also PI Official PRISM site: http://www.cfo.gov.p...d=322&Itemid=78

Map: http://www.cfo.gov.p...s/mapmanila.jpg

Check that out!

Love to you both,

Hello all what great timing. I came by to check in when I saw the whole Recipe sharing idea. Just so happens my fiance and I were sharing pictures of the food we were cooking/eating. It's a tiny gesture but things like this makes me feel closer to him even though he's far away in Haiti. I decided to share it with you all as it somehow makes the process so much easier. This recipe is for Bouillion also known as soup or broth in English

My future mother in law made this recently. The soup is made with:

Goat meat or chicken

yams

green plaintain

potatoes

water cress

dumplings

carrots

and other legumes/veggies :)

I will repost again with the actual picture. Still a vj newbie in someways. Oh and we can cross Haiti off the recipe list.

I just read a pretty informative interview with a Director at the VSC whose wife is/was a K-1 adjudicator. If you haven't read this thread, the interview is pretty interesting. I recommend posts #1 on Page 1 and posts #76 and #78 on Page 6. Bear in mind that the interview took place in the fall of 2009 but it still seems pretty relevant.
