actually the price for the device is 20 plus the first year of usage of 20, makes it $40. It is a $20/year service, it is well worth it. We have used it for almost a year, we bought 2, they save you a LOT of money on internatinal calls. You just connect it to your PC, install it and choose a phone number (if you call the USA make sure to choose a USA phone number and area code, that way when you call or when you get called from the US, it's completely free).

It works off of your internet service and if you do not have good internet, it won't work. We tried to use it with my wife's wireless internet and it didn't work. It needs a good internet connection, preferrably highspeed internet.

So buy one, connect it to your PC, connect the other end to a telephone with a telephone jack, install it on your computer, enter all info requested and choose a phone number.

I have a friend who has it and her connection is horrible maybe she doesnt have good internet but she sounds like a robot when talking on it and she only calls locally here in the USA so I can only imaginge what it would sound like if she called international.....

magicjack it s not working on morocco no more the operators blocked it, i had it i used it but now it s impossible when u install it u will have a msg to connect in internet even more u have connexion

We used a magicjack and didn't have any problems. It can be installed anywhere in the world.

However if what candle says is true, then it won't work.

You can try skype too, just charge $10 and call your hubby!

My wife tried Magic Jack from the Philippines. Internet connection is not the greatest and Magic Jack magnified those problems to the point that it became irritating to use.

You need a medium fast connection for it to work--check their website for minimum speeds, but I have to tell you that the faster the better--dial up never works. Also, some countries/phone companies block MJ, Skype, and other companies that drain their international fees. A simple solution is to get a VPN--I use wintopia and it has never failed to get thru some of the blockages.

I love Skype. Its only 9 bucks a month to call the UK, unlimited to landlines. To call mobile you need a different subscription. You can also set a Skype to go number on your home or cell phone and when you want to use it you first cal that number (local to you) and then choose the number you want to connect too.

Now if I can only find a cheap way to call his mobile unlimited I would be happy.

I work for a VoIP company, a competitor of magic jack, there is a couple of reasons for the "robot voice" that you are experiencing:

First is latency and bandwidth, you have to make sure that your connection speed is at least 1 Mbps and your latency should be low to Magic Jack's

proxy servers (contact Magic Jack and ask for their proxy IP address and then ping it from the computer you are using MJ from, if its over 300-350ms you

might have problems.)

Another thing is, at least in my opinion, the MJ device itself is poor quality as it utilizes a cheap USB device. I recommend Trying Google phone as stated

Thanks for your information, i checked the video for Google phone but i didnt find that "CALL PHONE OPTION" on my chat area !! do i need to unstall some additional software to be able to use Google phone ?

it cost 40$. And a yearly payment of 20$. you can find interesting promotional discounts.

We have been using it for one year and a half. It only need a computer with USB port it work in pc as well as in Mac environment good quality ( well in our experience skype has a better quality)

but I think that the most important think is that it is so cheap and youbonly need the small device in your bag because it can be connected everywhere. You don't lose your contacts numbers and your call log.

I haven't found a way to save the call log in a file, but you can do copy and paste in a word documen In case you want to use it as a RFE.

About google number I have tried but appear one Screen telling you that this service is not available outside US. But really we haven't tried creating an account in us and using it outside.
