Hey everyone,

I wanted to post this also in the Canadian forum. I wanted to know if anyone had there case transferred to California Service Center (AOS I-485)? I read that usually when the case is transferred to California service center there is no interview and is there any other advantage? I haven't got my EAD or my ap. I need to be able to work. I filed for my AOS end of Sept.2010.. How long did it take to get your greencard? Thanks for your help!

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Hi, I sent my forms about the same time as you and received my AP on Friday (but they misspelt my surname) and had it confirmed that my EAD has been approved. My case also went to Cali, but AP/EAD went to Missouri. The IO that I spoke to at my infopass appointment today told me that most K1s are going to Cali and not being interviewed at the moment (that could just be Indiana though). You should be pleased, no interview! I'm sure that you'll receive the other things shortly. Have you received a biometrics letter? If not maybe you could make an infopass apt if you live close enough to your local office and enquire with them what the status of your case is. I definitely found that speaking to a real live human being was more beneficial and informative than speaking to an administrative drone on the phone.

quite a few of us may aos filers are still waiting..you might have a bit of a wait on your hands. according to uscis they have 6 months before you are outside processing. i have asked for numerous service requests and and am now going on almost 8 months. Arabella jsut recently got her green card for her husband Sean after csc losing his medical and issuing them and RFE after 5 months. Colleens is still waiting and in the same boat as i am.

And then there are the people in july and august who got their green cards. However the rule is wait 6 months before complaining according to uscis.

Welcome to the Club.

AS for the Bio their system screwed up and they forgot to schedule me and Colleens. If you have not heard anyting for bio after waiting a month call and harass them. Chances are they forgot to put your name in the computer that does the appointments.

My AOS and AP/EAD are being filed at separate offices. I know several people who got their GC before they heard a thing about their AP/EAD. You're guess is as good as mine... and probably theirs haha.

See profile for our K-1 Visa/AOS story from 2010-2011Apparently we love USCIS/NVC so much we left and are doing it again! This time giving IR-1 a whirl. Rock on immigrators.

07/09/2014 sent in IR-1 packet to Chicago Lockbox

07/16/2014 NOA1

07/17/2014 check cashed by USCIS

12/30/2014 Case received by NVC

03/23/2015 Received Case and Inv # from NVC after many calls and bogus excuses.

03/24/2015 AOS payment accepted by NVC

04/09/2015 IV payment finally accepted by NVC after the set the wrong fee and took weeks to correct it.

*many more delays thanks to the agency processing my fingers prints to the RCMP and the post office losing our mail*

05/20/2015 Packet sent to NVC via UPS, eta May 28.

Oh. My. God... What a mess!!! Hopefully you'll hear something soon... Do you at least have your AP and EAD?

This was two years ago, but my husband's AOS was transferred to CSC right after his biometrics appointment, which was only about a month after we filed. EAD and AP took 71 days for approval, but a little bit longer for the EAD card to actually come in the mail. On average, AP and EAD take somewhere between 60 to 90 days, usually closer to 90, so you are still in the window for that.

The advantage in being transferred is you will not have an interview and for most people, that means your AOS will be processed faster (however, some local offices are actually faster than CSC, so it is not the case for all). In rare cases, they can look at your file and decide you should have an interview and transfer you back to the local office, but that's not likely.

You might want to call about your biometrics appointment. You really should have gotten that letter by now.

There are many people who have been through your very same situation. Use the search function and you'll find them.
