Form DS-156 for fiance visa

Hello,

I just printed out the form DS-156, which my fiance will fill out and take to his interview. The form states that he must attach evidence of his engagement to me as one of the documents needed to apply for the fiance visa.

My question is, what is really considered to be evidence of an engagement? What are they really looking for? Photos? Ring purchase receipts?

Thanks for any help--ginnyb

Where are you seeing this question on the DS-156? Or are you really speaking about the DS-156K? If so, then I would include your intent letters again, receipts for the ring are good, photos. I'll wait for some more replies. Folks can usually tell you what they brought with them.

Hi Nikki,

Yes, you are correct, it is on the DS-156K, not DS-156. Thanks for your reply.

Following teh VJ Guides, which I know you are doing, the revised letters of intent suffice.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
