I-130 Package Cost (UK spouse)

Hello all! Getting my visa package together for my UK citizen husband. The US Embassy in London has a fancy checklist for the I-130 package, and says the payment is $420 when you send it all off. Is this accurate and all I need at the moment? You pay more before the interview, correct?

Edit: whoops, didn't know they raised the fees! Now how much is it before the interview?

The new fee is $420. It used to be $355. The fee is sent in with the I-130 package to the USCIS Chicago Lockbox that corresponds to the state where the US Citizen petitioner lives.

That's correct. I-130 pkg. is now $420.

After that you have an $88 fee (Affidavit of Support) then 404 to the NVC.

Then Medical exam fee. Otherwise just plane tickets, copies, translation stuff (which wouldn't apply to you and mailing things are the other costs. Overall, my estimate is about 1500-2000 by the time the spouse enters the U.S. (that's not including applying for removal of conditions on a CR visa two years later)

Hey Sheepish,

Keep in mind that the checklist from the US Embassy in London is geared towards Direct Consular Filing (DCF). Unless you, the US Citizen, have permanent residence there, or other circumstances (military orders, etc.) you'll have to go by the I-130 checklist here or on USCIS website to file via the Chicago lockbox!

Late bump, but thanks everyone! We've been saving up and splitting up the costs of all of this!

Since I just graduated uni and my tax returns are what I made during school, I'll need a cosponsor (although I make enough money, I was told to get one). Do I submit two affidavits of support - one from myself and the other from my father? Is that 88 dollars per form? Or does he just submit his AOS?

its just the one amount for 88 dollars for the affidavitt of support. and yes, you'll need a co sponsor who will do an i864a if you live in the same household.
