Here's a question I have about Islam, I hope it will help lighten things up a bit:

The Bible says that a miracle is something that defies the laws of nature and Muslims say that the Quran is a miracle because it was tranmitted perfectly without alteration and flaw till the second coming.

So, since the Harry Potter books will be transmitted perfectly without alteration or flaw and will be around until the second coming does that make the Harry Potter books a miracle?

I do not see how someone could be angry at this, but I will add that this is not to upset anyone just to try to lighten things up!

When I came on yesterday, Layla was under attack from other posters, Muslims included, who were tired of her insults and put downs for disagreeing with her. What she doesn't know is that I got some PMs asking me to come in and intervene with her. There are at least a few who consider me to be the lesser of two evils between us lol!

The marriage thing in Islam is taking way out of context. Men WHO PRACTICE TRUE ISLAM are allowed to marry BUT this was made to protect women whom either widowed, where much older and could not look after them selves or women left behind with kids who had no one to go to for help. The idea of all this is to not leave a stranded women and children suffering from hardship. Taking another wife in this case of hardship was the whole reason why Islam permitted men to take more than one companion . It was not for the pleasure of marrying nice girls whom have never been married or have no kids. Unfortunately men who have more than one wife lack memory of this.

Personally I have an issue with that whole idea even if the whole purpose was intended to do some good. YUK I can’t imagine the husbands trying to become intimate with wife number 1 if he just finished of coming from the bed of another? That’s sick . ewwwwww the thought.

It is absolutely not demeaning to women if their husband has another wife or three other wives and arrogant comments like that from you reafirm my belief that you only want to make Islam into something it's not. Allah allows men to marry up to four wives in the Quran as long as he is just and fair with them. He reminds men later that it is not possible to be fair always in matters of the heart so even though the man may love one wife more than another he should not show it and treat them all the same to the best of his ability. That does not take back the permission that was already given it is just further clarification from our Lord.
