I thought I should start a new topic with this, so I am copy/pasting from my other reply, hope that is cool.

Is the DS-160 required for K1 Visa processing at the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines?

The Revised K1 Instruction Packet does not list it as a document that “You must bring”.

Do I assume that Since it is an on line form, I would not be “bringing” it?

The Manila Philippines Embassy site on the link below, under Application Process, 2. Required Documents: specifically states that “All applicants must complete the DS-160 Online Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application”

The US Department of State site at the link below specifically states that the DS-160 is NOT needed for a K Visa.

This site also gives good info on filling out the DS-160-FYI

So I am assuming that this is where the conflicting information comes from, some Embassies world wide do not require it, but US Embassy Manila does?

Can any of you that have been through the process here in Manila confirm this?

that web page does seem cause some confusion. might be helpful if they added this...

Although the K visas are described as nonimmigrant visas, these visas are processed at the Immigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Manila. Please view the Immigrant Visas pages of this website for more details.

^^^The U.S. Embassy Manila does not use the DS-160 for K-1erz.

ditto
